donsanderson: I think what we need right now is a nice bit of 'end of sale' prose from our resident Bard/Viking/Bunny.
When done playing with your goat of course. ;-)

Mount & Blade Warband - Day 2
M&B Warband Napoleonic Wars - Day 2
M&B With Fire And Sword - Day 2
Sacred Gold - Day 4
Sacred 2 Gold - Day 5
Pure Pinball 2 Redux - Day 6

Pro Pinball Big Race USA - Day 8
Pro Pinball Fantastic Journey - Day 8

CarrionCrow: Well, I have heard a LOT about Ultima 9. Haven't gotten to it myself, but it seems like one worth giving a try, just to see what all the fuss is about.

foxworks: Who knows. Nine might be your new Fahrenheit. ;-p
Oh, I'm sure it will be a contender. But I have to run through 1-8 plus Underworld 1 and 2 first, though.

jackster79: Anyway, welcome to the have-too-many-games club! We are always looking for new members! :-D

In the meantime, happy gaming!
Well, thanks for your feedback on the games, and for welcoming me in your club. I'm glad I'm not the only one. What about you? Have you bought a lot of games? Have you already played them? :)

Stilton: Right, you asked for it...

The journey's been a long one,
and frankly not the best.
That forty minutes waiting
was simply such a test.

The flash deals were not flashing,
but dragging slowly by
while most of us were praying
that time would start to fly.

But in the end the value
of staying stead and fast,
was sharing in this forum,
where time would gladly pass.

Where avatars are faces
of friends who shared the pain,
Who know that, come the next sale,
We all will share again...

Thanks for the last couple of weeks, everyone. I enjoy the games, but the forum it where the real pleasure is ;-)
Excellent !!! :D I wouldn't have found better words.
Thanks everyone for these moments...
And see you soon (for the X-mas sales, maybe) ! :)))

I'm happy that the sale will finally end tomorrow and that GOG will get back to it's regular schedule for releases and promos. But I will really miss your poems.

Wonder what will GOG do for this Xmas sale? (looks like it started dec 12th last year). last time around looking at the threads they had done that *random* box stuff and bundles - does anyone remember if the rest of the catalogue was on sale or discounted at all during the xmas sale? (havent had a dig around those previous threads to check if a spread sheet had been done by someone - Jmich or Mondo etc)...
1 hour 17 minutes to go and I'm feeling less of a tug this time than in previous sales. It'll be good to recharge the batteries with a few weeks of normality before the next onslaught. Makes me wonder how GOG are going to handle the Christmas sale, though. Hopefully a quicker pace over a shorter timespan. Whatever, it'll be nice to yack again and get some more games.

And thank you for the pleasant response to my word-mangling rhymes. The first was volunteered a few days ago on a whim and they seem to have progressed (for good or bad) since then. I'm no poet (as you've probably guessed) but if they've added something here for some of you, then I'm happy ;-)

Judging by past Christmas sales, you shouldn't be expecting a shorter timespan. In fact, based on the two past Christmas sales, I would estimate somewhere close to 3 weeks.

Aside the mystery boxes and the bundles, there was a 50% discount for the vast majority of the catalog (with the exception of a small number of games, like Arx Nosalis and the oddity of the Interplay catalog which had a 60% discount during the whole sale).

No tug at all for me. The sales always end early in the morning for me. I get up, and hit GOG looking for the last minute purchases. This time around, the "last minute" stuff has been up for the last 22+ hours. There's nothing to even consider.

When the first Insomnia hit I was determined to see it through to the bitter end and get as many deals as I fancied, but as time has gone by and subsequent sales come along I think I've become inclined to get 'enough' games and concentrate more on getting the right amount of sleep. The wishlist will complete in time, but the toll these things demand on the body (sleep deprivation, caffeine overload, eye strain) has made them as uncomfortable as they are rewarding. Although, as I've said before, the forum makes it a whole lot more pleasant.

For me the tug is more of a forum 'we've been through something together again' thing than it is saying goodbye to the deals. And I agree with you, this time around the sale really feels like it overstayed its welcome.

Was it last year or the year before that the titles of a certain pub (sorry, don't recall which one it was) were on a 50% discount for a shorter duration that the Winter Sale?

I think it was Christmas 2012 for Interplay.
Edit: Wrong. It was Christmas 2012 alright, but for Square-Enix.
