Luckily, this time I missed nothing while I was sleeping! :)

Well, maybe Medal of Honor, but I'm not too sure about that game: Does anybody know if it is a "common" story driven FPS or if its missions are always varied and interesting? What about the "commando/spy style" ones?

When you put it that way? I am definitely staying up. Just need another pot of coffee or three and I'll be spastic as ever.
Morpheus not treating you nicely, eh?

moonshineshadow: So never? The Q&A at twitch did not give me much hope that it will come back :D
Well, the saying goes "Never say never', but it's been over two years since it was last on sale, IIRC, which doesn't give much hope, does it now?
A Golden Wake is now off for 33% ($9.99), which is an interesting deal since it is not part of the normal Fall sale :-) The next game appearing on flash sale will be Race Driver: Grid

At 80% off according to the promo email we all received way too late. :)

Ah ok. I admit I did not even read the email since like always it came after the sale already started :D

Nah, just like caffeine better. =)

Would put Arx showing up at MAYBE a 5 percent chance. At most.

Niggles: Next is Redshirt.. the much maligned game no one seems to like or want :P
avatar
CarrionCrow: Does that mean I shouldn't gift you a copy at some point? ;)
Probably be wasted on me ;). Liked it at launch but the reviews sort of turned me off.... might be nice for someone else at this price though....

Hell, I'll probably end up with a copy of it eventually. It couldn't be worse than Fahrenheit, and I own that POS.

It's pretty linear. Here's your objective, complete it, here's the next one. The missions are varied but not always interesting. There are some commando/spy parts, but you'll inevitably be forced to shoot your way through, there's no completely stealth mission. Plenty of sniping too. The Omaha beach assault is still one of my favourite FPS levels. But then there are others... sniper town comes to mind as infuriating, and I just hate the forest levels.

There was nothing quite like it when it came out, but by today's standards...

It's okay, but no more than that. I enjoyed it at first, but eventually it just starts to become a slog, as there's not much variation.

I found MOH enjoyable, but in preferred the original Call of Duty games set during WW2. I liked the Omaha beach assault, it was so epic in its day, but sadly it was too short. It would have been nice if they had incorporated the Omaha multiplayer map into the single player campaign. You can still access the map in single player using chests, but there are no enemies. It would have been nice having to clear the whole bunker system, not just the first tower.

I did too. But when I play it today it's just not the same thrill anymore.

I understand that, when I replayed it recently, it seemed a lot easier and definitely a lot shorter than I remember. The whole pack itself gives you a fair amount of gameplay, but the individual levels seem too short now, but I guess that was due to limitations when the game was made.
Race Driver Grid is off for the expected 80% ($2.99), the next game on flash sale will be 1849 :-)

So, has anyone played A Golden Wake? It sounds interesting, but 10$ is still quite expensive at the moment for me so I am debating on buying it.

Idly wondering how many more flash items there will be before repeats start to show up. 38 so far.
