Stilton: Haven't missed Torchlight, have I?

CarrionCrow: Oh, totally....and no one has an extra code for it, either. It's the kind of missed opportunity you'll curse the gods about for the rest of your days....
Damn, I went pillaging today; I knew I should've taken my tablet...

CarrionCrow: All right, random question time - are there people who mind if I refer to them as "they" rather than by gender? I don't mean to sound odd, but someone's gender isn't my business (so I'm not going to ask) and I'm not a big fan of making assumptions.
I do that too, and no offense intended. I'm still waiting for one of the genderless pronoun sequences to be adopted. I prefer the "ne" ones, but see a number of folks using the "ze" set. Until they are more mainstreamed, the third-person-plural is a fine selection.

Probably for the best, overall. Swinging an axe, torching huts, all while trying to hang onto one? Too much chance of dropping it.

I wonder how many people see these comments and actually don't play it because they think it's a horrible game?
I remember playing the longest journey and loving it. The game was also superbly dubbed using the good kind of voice actors. not the cheap ones that sound as if they're reading a medicine leaflet. They took it seriously and gave the exact amount of emotion to each role.

I also remember hating the anti-copy security system, which forced me to keep the damn discs on the pc and impeded me from ripping an ISO to the hard drive. The discs had a groove on them which I assume contained garbage data, making it unreadable when the laser reached it. I don't know what kind of DRM it was, but I know it was obnoxious), and with 4 discs, that was actually quite annoying.

So I'm kind of on the fence on wether to buy it. On one hand, part of the desire comes from the nostalgia of the game, which is fueled by the terrific voice work filled with (to me) very recognizable voices. Do I want to tarnish that memory with the original voice acting?

Also I don't have a disc drive any more.

Okay, cool. I know I'm frigging weird....Still trying to get past the habit of checking global time zones to see whether I should say good morning, good afternoon or good evening to each person. Good day isn't cutting it, either. That just changes the scenario from 3 possibilities to 2.
Heroes of Annihilated Empires is back on for 80% off. Only got interested in it after someone here talked about it and was undecided when it was 80% off. Reappeared on 75% and I was too cheap to not get it then, but it was worth banking on the hopes that it'd return to the original discount. 50 cents saved!

And I thought I was out after the first day with the Dungeons and Dragons bundle. Past self is smrt.

Wurzelkraft, your generosity is very much appreciated, but I was making an obviously lame attempt at humour, picking on Torchlight as an alleged want because of the (I don't know how many days ago) conversation people were having about how many times it had come up in the past. Which is a long-winded way of saying I already have it from a Humble Bundle a long time back. So, thank you, but if it won't offend, I'll leave the game unclaimed and you can give it to someone who actually wants it/doesn't have a copy ;-|).

I do it all the time for the same reason. I'm also in the habit of using "one" instead of "you" when talking about something in general, just to avoid potential confusion or misunderstandings.

So, you're not weird at all, at least not when it comes to this. ;-D

Bollocks! I thought I'd finally have found someone who doesn't have the game. *crawls back to the cave*

ddickinson: What is this? A Dwarf wishlist without ale, flatulence and swimming with little hairy women on it? Is your wishlist up to date master Dwarf? If not, then how am I supposed to know what games to force upon you. :-)
I don't really bother with updating that since it's mostly for me to keep track of games on sale. Besides, there are many more deserving people than me, I can't really afford to gift people as much as I would like to, so spend it on one of these other folks who are able to spread the joy of gifting, please.

I've been trying to make a friend of mine sign up GOG for some time. Maybe my Witcher 2 will finally sway him. If I manage to do so I'll point you to him.
