Stilton: Has the now you see it, now you don't SotS Juggernaut situation been resolved yet?
I think so. The aforementioned Wurzelkraft, aside from having good taste in music, is also really generous, so they gifted it to me.

CarrionCrow: -laughs-
Already read the threadspace I missed while asleep. If that had happened, Niggles and Hyper wouldn't be disappointed about the same crap getting regurgitated AGAIN and Sinistar wouldn't be extremely disappointed that their game never showed back up.

ddickinson: They are just trying to spare your feelings. We decided not to tell anyone who missed it, just in case it upset them ;-).

It is a bit sneaky though, the wording they used about the 250 deals.
Evil, just evil... I LOVE IT! :-D

JDelekto: Well, we might not see them discounted, but I'm really hoping to see a few new ones that GOG may be hiding up their sleeve 'eek' out for those with a craving.

ddickinson: Christmas would be a good time to launch the next batch, but who knows, GOG sure does like keeping its customers on their toes.
I'll say. I used to check out GOG every few days, then ran across the initial launch or their fall sale when looking up a game --needless to say, I ended up with Mount & Blade and started collecting the stamps daily for the Witcher 2 + movie promo.

I ended up several dollars lighter throughout the event but ended up with my 'freebies'. *sigh*

What, did no one tell you? While you were asleep GOG held a short insomnia sale with lots of new games, even some previously never discounted. In fact, you just missed it, if only you had been a bit quicker. ;-)

CarrionCrow: Good day, everyone.

Day 11, and it looks like GOG whipped out the fine print scenario.

"250 deals!" Not "250 unique deals!" And certainly not "250 deals that are the exact same things you got tired of looking at a week ago!"

Sneaky buggers....
And crazy enough, I did the math and there are even going to be 250 flash sales, so they must be throwing in the bundles and maybe counting each game as a deal...

They doubled the flash items to put themselves at 256, which let them say 250 plus deals with a straight face. They're technically correct, but it's still not a shining example of transparent language usage in advertising.

Except each day there are 36 slots * 3 = 108. Two days is 216. You could count the extra 24 at the start of the day for 240 but 8 of those were already up for sale. Even then, where are the other 10? Individual games from the bundles?
Hmmm. Good question. The reasoning feels all kinds of wonky, but then, the reasoning's felt that way for the entire sale.
At least there's only one day of it left. The sale's been really good haul-wise, but a lot of the nuts and bolts haven't been so great.

Someone also said they posted there would be 29 games up at once (not realizing there are 3 in waiting) so only 27. Math might not be a strong suit.

What? It was your idea not to tell CarrionCrow! Sorry I have a conscience and had to tell when CarrionCrow came online. It just wasn't fair that some users missed such a once in a lifetime epic GOG sale. ;-)

Good music AND a game. What more do you need? ;)

Stilton: And a good day to you.

I'm resigned to it now. They've put a fairly good bunch of games on sale and I've managed to get some new titles I'm pleased with (with the very generous help of some exceedingly kind fellow GOGers).

I think that, rather than the sale having any particular failings, my expectations and eagerness were perhaps a little too charged up. All in all its been a pretty rewarding (if agonizingly slow) affair so far, and now I'm just looking forward to the bundles to see if I can add any last minute items I might of opted out of earlier.

I wouldn't have lasted this long without the forum, that's for sure ;-)
I don't think any of us would have survived this long with out our fellow GOGers. ;)
*drops in after whole day of baking christmas cookies* did I miss anything?

Whoever that "we" includes, you and I are not part of it; you because you were only too eager to crush him by telling him that he missed a fictional stupendous mini Insomnia Promo, and I because I never hid that there wasn't even a new title in the Flash Deals and how disappointed I am because of it. Pretty clear who of us acted on conscience. ;-P

Torin68: As near as I can tell from Google:
Oyasumi - Good Night
Ashita - Tomorrow
I knew someone would be able to figure it out ^__^
