Last call for Jade Empire...

Will I succumb or stay firm and save my money for Saber merch? Advise me oh wise men (and women?) of the forum. Which should I prioritize? A genderbent impossibly cute japanese filtered King Arthur statuette or a magical experience in Bioware's asian themed RPG?

Or maybe both?

I bought the game 3 times, one for the Xbox (to be run on my Xbox 360), one retail for the PC and one from GOG. I have yet to play it. So, I guess, Jade.

budejovice: I already PM'd. Just haven't taken the time to get it public. Probably a good thing with all you good folks around.

Promise I'll be active on the wiki in time for the Winter Sale. :)
Ha! With the rate you buy games, there will be nth left till then to put into the wishlist... Oh wait, perhaps CarrionCrow can finally gift one of those 20hrs old s̶o̶c̶c̶e̶r̶ football games. ;-P

IAmSinistar: They changed the Flash Deals order. I'm never getting my game at this rate.

GOG's getting back at me for the Regional Price thread...
You knew there was a price to pay, right?

avatar
j0ekerr: Just fine old chap. I say, will you be passing by the club later and have a nice game of backgammon, or total war?
Only if we play Tapa and Gul Bara. ;-)

AdamR: I'd rate myself a 18/100 right now.
We need to do something about this. Suggestions anyone?

Niggles: 30C today
40C tomorrow. Oh yeah really exciting times here LOL.
No new fresh games. All old flashes. Im wondering where the extra 's in 250 games are coming from....
You have no idea how much I envy you right now with this strong northern wind going nuts for the past three days here.

I'm more wondering when the extras will finally arrive.

HypersomniacLive: How's everyone doing this sunny morning?
Sunny? *looks out the window* Dull and drizzling here in London. Watched the latest episode of The Apprentice with my husband last night solely because they were in New York City and I wanted to see the landscapes and areas they used. Shots of NYC were lovely and sunny while shots of London were grey and raining. Pretty typical.

Still trying to decide on whether to get Magicmaker. Had fun with the demo, and $5 or under seems to be my 'okay go for it' price, but I'm wondering if it'll just sit on my backlog and not get played until after the next sale or two.

The dreaded backlog... I estimate that mine will take 2 years, 3 months, a week and 5 days to complete. (Assuming I play games 12 hours a day, and don't buy anything else.)

My philosophy lately has been - "there is always another sale". But then again, games can get removed with little or no warning...

You probably shouldn't listen to me, though. I am often called "mentally unstable."

Id rather temps at the other end of the scale... these hot days are killing me....ugh...give me snow. cold.
Reposting it here since it annoys me to change back to the other page all the time^^

How close are we to the end of the existing flash deals?

infinityeight: The educational differences between cultures is a fascinating thing. I've worked in a very nationality -diverse Intensive English Program, so I've seen it all, from super motivated to only show up to class to keep their funding and their visas. The differences between what different cultures teach/ emphasize in learning/ ask for behaviorwise in the classroom is fascinating (and very challenging in courses where those different cultures all come together).
Ah, the multilingual classroom! It's ideal from an immersion standpoint, but it's also a microcosm of culture clash. I find that you have to establish very clear rules of engagement when the discussion turns to potentially sensitive topics and sometimes, you're not even aware of what the powder keg of the day might be. =P

18 is actually comparatively good for me. Most days I am about a 5 or 6.

I'm imagining a laid back italian and an overachieving korean in the same classroom.

Then the universe implodes.

Seriously though. Have you ever had a similar mix?

What's the deal with Sword of the Stars: The Pit and its various DLC? How many are actually included in the Gold Edition?

Let's see. If I presume that 1/3rd of my collection will take an average of 6 hours to complete (the smaller, indie type games) and the other 2/3rds take an average of 30 hours to complete...

My current estimates are that it'll take me 1 year, 10 months, and 1 week working at 8 hours a day. At 12 hours a day it'll be 1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks, and 1.25 days. That doesn't quite count strategy or sandbox games where I could theoretically play for hours and not get to the end criteria.

Yes, I have actually. =P The Kortalian combo is quite good because neither will be too shy to talk to the other. Unless the Italian is an extremely flirty guy and the Korean a sheltered girl who giggles behind her hand... then I wouldn't put them together for pairwork, but that's less culture dependent and more personality based.
