I did read the wish entry, and I don't think GOG can handle this to make it work smoothly.

ddickinson: [...] (Did the insomnia sale repeat games? Or was each game only shown once?)
Insomnia Promos run in three rounds, with the second and third recycling the games of the first round but in different order. Each round also differs regarding the total volume of each title on offer.

foxworks: I think I'll pass. I like my breakfast to stay put ;-)
How about lunch or dinner then? I'm sure CarrionCrow will come up with something suitable for those meals. ;-P

ddickinson: It's more fun to buy them for other people :-).

Speaking of buying people games, I still don't see your wishlist on the GOGwiki ;-).
What madth3 said. ;-)
Two manual substitutions this time, since both slotted titles were just recently up:

Bionic Dues -> Race Driver: GRID
Cossacks Anthology -> Meridian: New World

Maybe all this behind-the-scenes tinkering is part of what is slowing things down.

ddickinson: [...]

And give people the chance to gift me games? I can't do that, I prefer to give gifts, not receive them. Plus I would lose my title as the ungifteable :-).
Well, at least I have the satisfaction that I made it so that you not only entered my GA, but also won. ;-)

Insomnia games typically came around three times. The first was the sleep-destroying "see what's in the sale" round, and the last the sleep-depriving "last change to get" round.

Well, as I said before: I hate to see a grown man begging, pleading and crying. Also you made some very mean threats that got me all upset and confused, that's the only reason I entered ;-).
OMG, scrolling down the page is actually giving me motion sickness. -`д´-
The cover image for the Cossacks Anthology has got to be my favourite image of any of the GOG games, so I just did a bit of research and found that it was painted by Ilya Yefimovich Repin (1844-1930), who was a 19th century Russian realist painter. The painting used is his 'Cossacks of Saporog Are Drafting a Manifesto' of 1891, and for compositional reasons GOG (or someone else) have turned the figure on the right with the crazy moustache around from his original place on the left, presumably so he looks like he's reacting to something the guy in the centre with the pipe has said. Unless, of course, there is another version of the painting and the artist decided to change it for some reason...

A piece of historical trivia there to distract from the extended wait for new games...

The truth is already out, but it's alright, you can keep denying it and lie to yourself it it makes you feel better. ;-DD
The next three in order would be:

Deus Ex GOTY Edition - $2.49 (75%)
Clive Barker's Undying - $1.49 (75%)
Empire Earth Gold Edition - $1.19 (80%)

Any guesses on what they'll swap Deus Ex out with for the next batch of Flash Deals, since it's up right now?

I don't know, Two Worlds may have to battle it out for #1 :)

avatar
foxworks: Can't say I get tired of seeing the Two Worlds game tile appear in the flash sale :p
avatar
stg83: Is it because of the lovely artwork, that tries to fool you into thinking it is a fantastic RPG. ;)

Speaking of me winning a prize, I am yet to return the favour, so thank you for reminding me :-).

(I hope your wishlist is up to date?)

ddickinson: Unfortunately for you I'm an equal rights kinda girl, so I'm fine with men going first, in certain circumstances, wishlists for example. I think that wishlists are definitely a gentlemen first kind of thing. Besides, I asked first :-).
Since you're for equal rights then its your duty to balance the ratio of wishlists on GOGwiki by adding yours to increase the female quotient. As far as wishlists go, the gentlemen kind of thing to do actually, would be to fulfill those wishes. ;)

Although you asked first but I proposed the condition that essentially requires you to take the initiative for me to follow through as well. :)

Aye. That's what really makes the sale. Well, that and all the panicky people who've seen the first round list and are asking if it's repeated yet. :D

The second round is also when we start handing out prizes* for "damn, I just missed [game]" posts.

* prizes are drawn randomly from a pool of scorn, abuse, and mockery

Indeed, all those fond memories make me yearn for another Insomnia and this format has done nothing to fill that void.
