CarrionCrow: As a compromise, it'd work somewhat, but the overall speed would still be lost. If you're looking to crank people's reactions up to higher levels, you need something faster, more of the risk of loss (which can then turn into either elation at beating the clock and getting the item, determination and a reason to stay connected to the sale through to the next round, or yes, all kinds of frustration).
Insomnia went for three rounds, three full rotations of all included items, for both the Fall and Spring versions.
Maybe a good compromise would be to have a flash sale, but mix in the occasional insomnia type sale, where a game appeared only very briefly among the regular flash sale games. I thinks it's a hard thing to balance, if a person prefers the insomnia sale, then nothing but insomnia will do, but for those who prefer it slower, they may be deterred from an insomnia sale. Maybe GOG should do a flash sale for the first 3/4 of the sale, to allow regular users to pick up some games, then have the last 1/4 as insomnia, with some new games to spice things up.

:-P
And give people the chance to gift me games? I can't do that, I prefer to give gifts, not receive them. Plus I would lose my title as the ungifteable :-).
