genkicolleen: [...]

Now, for recommendations, do you want ones that are only available on Steam, or do you want recommendations for Big Fish, too?
If I may butt in here for a moment - note that BFG is exactly like Steam, i.e. mandatory client to download/ install games. They can be played without the client, but not moved to a different folder. They're as DRM-ed as it gets.

Niggles: IHOGS lol. i mean just ones u would recommend to people. best ones? ;)
If you're interested in DRM-free titles in the genre, you could take a look at and [url=http://www.gamersgate.com/casual/hidden-object?filter=feature:12]GamersGate to see if they carry any of genkicolleen's recommendations. My personal recommendation is Dark Arcana: The Carnival.

Anything that has to do with Boxer Dogs and food. ;)
(Yes, I own one too)

IAmSinistar: We seriously need both and [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/hammer-of-the-gods]Hammer Of The Gods here on GOG. I have them on disc, but they need to be brought back to the gaming populace at large.
Oh wow, Hammer of the Gods! I played a demo of that on a computer magazine's disc once, and haven't been able to remember the name of it for years. I remember being terrible at it, but enjoying it anyway.

LOL yes they're pigs. I've noticed that they all have their own "favorites." Mine knows when dinner time is near and will flatten out near the table, even when I'm still cooking, sometimes shortly before I even start. He loves pasta and grilled steak the most.

When I make soup, he flips out and will sit at the stovetop, staring up at me and losing it almost the entire time. The next day, he'll rudely bark at his bowl (single, loud bark) even if he has food, because he wants soup. He WILL NOT EAT until he gets soup.

At least once a day, he'll decide he wants something out of the refrigerator. It's not like he sits there all day long, he just suddenly gets it into his head that he wants something. I'll hear a periodic single shrill bark or a low, soft whine / whimper. Sometimes I'm not sure where it's coming from, and he is VERY persistent. When I go looking for the reason, he'll be sitting in front of the refrigerator. When he gets something, he's satisfied and gets it out of his head.

I've also noticed all boxers love coffee. I know it's bad for them, but he does get to lick the mug. If I don't hold it he can actually tip it sideways to lick the bottom without tipping it over, and he returns it to upright position when "done."

Sounds about right except mine doesn't bark for what he wants. He just sits and >stares< at me until I guess it. Gets downright unnerving sometimes. ;)

This sale is so boring I've been watching this to liven things up a bit:

Sounds perfect for GOG.
Looks interesting as well.

I see The Witcher's coming up again. I'm finally going to get it, mainly because it just seems wrong to play the sequel without going through that one first.

It's true. Big Fish's game manager is both convenient and a pain in the rear. You're required to use the GM to dl the games, but you can bypass the GM once the games are installed, so that's nice.

HypersomniacLive: My personal recommendation is Dark Arcana: The Carnival.
Dark Arcana is definitely a good one! Pretty much any of the ones on Steam are going to be good (Artifex Mundi is a good developer of these games) and GamersGate's Alawar games usually great!

I'll hunt up some of my faves and get links. Back in a bit~ ^__^

Angelica Weaver: Catch Me When You Can
Dark Arcana: The Carnival
Hidden Runaway
Midnight Mysteries 1: Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy (Groupees bundle)
Midnight Mysteries 2: Salem Witch Trials (Groupees bundle)
Midnight Mysteries 3: Devil on the Mississippi (Groupees bundle)
Midnight Mysteries 4: Haunted Houdini (Groupees bundle)
Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart

Have you tried Where Angels Cry?

DRM-Free version, or should be.
I became interested in this once I learned it was heavily influenced by Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose. It's not a bad little game, simple puzzles with HOG included.

Recommended DRM-free HOG's at GamersGate:
This Alawar 5-in-1 pack is an excellent deal. I've played and enjoyed 3 of the 5 games, and the price is worth it just for those three.
*peruses some more, then gives up on linking them all*
They have a BUNCH of great IHOG's, including some of my favorites! I have reviews for all of these (and recommend them):
Brink of Consciousness - Both games are EXCELLENT, and in different ways.
Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town - Another one of my favorites!
Cruel Games: Red Riding Hood - While not as polished as those above, still really enjoyable.
The Gift - This one really deserved more attention than it got. There are some flaws, but overall it's definitely worth getting.
Dark Arcana: The Carnival - As mentioned by Hypersomniac, this is REALLY a good game.
Twisted Lands games, all three of them - Some would disagree on this, but the "What the hell?!" moments really worked for me, and I loved them all.
House of 1000 Doors (only have a review for the first one) - Excellent production values on this series
Mountain Crime Requital - This one surprised me, as I didn't expect to like it, and it ended up being a favorite.
Stray Souls series - I adored these games! Absolutely excellent!
Nearwood - One of the best IHOG's of 2013! This one came in second place for me, right behind the CE of Nevertales, and tied with Enigmatis 2: The Mists of Ravenwood... Hmm, and Stray Souls 2! lol~

That's probably enough of a list for now :D
