CarrionCrow: It seemed interesting enough to buy earlier. Haven't had a chance to play it, though.

Stilton: I've been reading reviews of it for the last fifteen minutes and it looks like its very hard but very good. Nice graphics and challenging, too. A lot of people seem to like it. I might be getting myself a copy...

IronArcturus: Ascendant is an interesting game, but the controls are a bit "floaty." It's a random, roguelike fighting game and it's very difficult. Graphically it looks similar to Guacamelee. If you really like 2D fighting games, you might want to check it out.
Thanks everyone, I think I'm gonna buy it.

CarrionCrow: Glowing eyeballs - an avatar for all seasons.
Or an indication you've been hanging around the X-ray department too much.

I'd be amazed to hear no one's come up with contact lenses that achieve the same effect without the bothersome "lethal doses of radioactivity" thing.

IronArcturus: Aww! :P Well I've had the Homeworld avatar for while now! Have you played that game?
avatar
genkicolleen: I haven't. What kind of game is it?
Homeworld is one of my favorite games of all time! It's a 3D RTS game that's set in space. You can control swarms of small fighter ships and command super-massive capital ships. The story was excellent and the music was very memorable. Multiplayer was a lot of fun too!

I hope one day GOG will be able to get that series. Here are the wishlists for Homeworld 1 and 2. :)

What about contact lenses that enable you to see into the future, or back in time - they'd destroy the drug trade overnight.

Wasn't there one called Cataclysm? I think it was an addon.

Thanks for adding the links, and, WOW do they have a lot of votes! The games must be really good!
Has anyone played Consortium? I put it on my wishlist at one point because it looked interesting, but every time I look at it, I have sort of a mixed reaction. It's largely a theoretical question (money sucks, is all I can say at this point), but I'm curious to hear opinions on it from those who've played it.

They are! It would be great if GOG could get that series and use GOG Galaxy with it too!
Today is only the third time GOG has put up a bundle that I didn't own at least one game from. And so far none of those three bundles have been one I want. Of course, the odds of them constructing a bundle I do want from what remains of their catalogue is vanishing small now.

Still, it would be nice if they did an Apogee bundle. But I suspect those are already too inexpensive, and sadly probably not of enough interest.

EDIT: I tell a lie. It's actually five bundles. But I still don't want the remaining games from them. Same with 95% of the Flash Deals. Ah well, the curse of a large collection, I guess.

Yeah, an Apogee bundle would be really cool! But I was also hoping to see a Flash Sale on other games like Starpoint Gemini 2 or Shovel Knight.

Yeah....the bundles aren't really filling me with confidence, either. One game shy of having the whole lot of them, and that's only because I didn't think the game was appealing enough to be worth 2 and a quarter.
Also, if you want, I can keep an eye out for Space Run in case it hits again while I'm up and you're proving your superior common sense by actually sleeping regularly.

I would love an Apogee bundle! I can't quite convince myself to part with the full prices for the games, even as low as they are, when I've beaten them all (and some more more than once), but I would certainly pick up a good bundle of them. (Well. Maybe not today; but when money is not so scarce, definitely. ;)

I can sympathize with that. My collection is a healthy size and its put me in a kind of void where I'm trying to find temptation in things my heart really isn't into. On one hand its great not to want to dive at every other game that comes along, but it does leave me feeling somewhat removed from proceedings.
I'm still hoping for a Legend of Kyrandia bundle before the end of the sale. IIRC, they were ~70% off bundled together at release, but I missed it and haven't seen them with a discount that big since...

The only bundle I actually bought in this sale was the Mount & Blade Series one. And it would have been damn hard for me to have those games here before they offered that one. I already had everything in The Ultimate D&D Collection, Best of Bullfrog, Theme Rollercoaster, Spiderweb RPGs, Heroes of Might and Magic Series, Deponia Trilogy, Indie Puzzlers, Thief Series, WadjetEye Retroventures, and Hitman Classics before this started, plus some of the games in other ones. No surprise that this sale hasn't set my wallet aflame. :D

Thanks for the offer to keep watch for Space Run. I believe Foxy is doing the same, so please make sure you don't both buy it. And I'll let you all know if I happen to be online in time to get it myself. But if it rolls around in the wee hours again, I likely won't.

Ta!
