LynetteC: Oops, my bad! :-o 'F' for reading comprehension!

In my defence, I've just logged back in after having this laptop in pieces replacing the keyboard, so I got a bit carried away wanting to test it out. (My i, k, m and spacebar keys kept intermittently stopping) I've had the replacement keyboard for a while but have been putting it off for months. It got so bad this evening I just had to get the screwdriver out. I'm just relieved the damn thing has actually started back up! lol

Don't expect it to improve the typos though. :-p

CarrionCrow: Laptop-based tech support....-shudders- Kudos to you for putting it back together without problems cropping up.
Keyboards are usually quite easy but this one is screwed to a plate under the top of the case and I had to undo every screw in the base to release the top of the casing. I think Acer's new slogan is "why use one screw when you can use five"!

I hope the screen never needs replacing!
Laptop screens are the worst to change.

Think I'll just stick with desktops. Large hands, bad eyes and tiny screws make for a frustrating, hair-ripping experience every time.

Yeah, inch long nails and tiny screws are not exactly compatible either!

At least you still have hair to rip out. ;)

Only because I don't work on laptops. Otherwise I'd have plucked myself bald headed years ago.

Okay yeah, that's definitely worse. If I had to fix a laptop with nails like that, I might as well just start hitting it with a hammer. Same ultimate result with less grief in the middle.

I've spent the last few hours wrestling with a misbehaving router. Funny how a GOG sale will add some urgency to a task ;)
Was AI War there the last time? I think I remember seeing it.

Hmmm. It's been an interesting day on GOG. I've seen a Viking with a trained attack seal, and now, a mindreading cat with glowing eyes.

LynetteC: If you mean the original version, that was in thne D & D bundle on the first day. The new version is probably too new to be discounted.
avatar
Grargar: There is no new version of Icewind Dale 2. :P
I guess Lynette was thinking to the Enhanced Edition, which indeed is not discounted. But probably a small discount of 25-30% for the Enhanced Edition, bundled together with the two Complete versions discounted at 75-80%, would have generated more sales.

Unfortunately, the chances of a bundle containing the original and enhanced editions are nonexistent, since each version is published by a different company (Hasbro is handling the original, while Beamdog is handling the enhanced edition).

You're right, I was thinking of the Enhanced Edition. I was so excited/relieved to be back online that I missed the 2 in the initial post. :-)
