georgealmighty: The sale will be going on for more than two weeks, so maybe you don't have to claim the stamps in the first seven days, but just "check in" seven times during the sale.
Ohhh, of course! *facepalm* No, there's no missing space on my "card". Sheesh. Shows how much attention I'm paying!

Thanks Georgealmighty and niky45!

LynetteC: The problem with this sale is that if I see a title I'm not familiar with I have plenty of time to take a look and decide if it's something I'm likely to play. This is leading to purchases that I may not have had time to make in an insomnia type sale. (I'm looking at you, Gangland!)

Zeyes: Only a tiny minority actually sticks around an insomnia-type sale for hours on end, everybody else simply misses most game deals altogether. This way the average customer is going to get the opportunity to make that decision on a lot more games, so even if they decide against many of them, they'll probably still buy more.
Maybe it's just me, but if I had stumbled upon GOG for the first time during the Insomnia sale, I still would definitely have stuck around the site (if not the forums) to see what was up next.
avatar
LynetteC: I sometimes feel bad for GOG that I tend to buy the majority of my games when they're discounted
Not really. If I would buy all games for the full price I would buy a game only when I actually want to play it and have the time to do so. This way I would buy much, much less games than I buy now. I don't know if I ever will manage to play all the games I already have bought. So I'm quite sure GOG will get much more money from me with the discounted games on sales as they would get otherwise.

Edit: Also some games I would never buy for the full or even a higher price. For example Septerra Core. The game looks nice and interests me. But from the reviews and the videos I watched I'm quite sure I will never finish this game as the battles are way too tedious. So the game isn't worth the full price for me, but at the high discount it's probably worth a buy even when I will play it only for a very few hours.

Just a little reminder that today's Flash Deals are consolidated here.
I have yet to see the game Zeus to go on flash sale. Will it ever? I already own Ceasar 3 and Pharao.

Bambusek: Insomnia is about craziness that is happening in the comment section :) Outside that yeah, this one is better for customers.

LynetteC: ^ This.

My very first forum post was in the Spring Insomnia Tracker thread and it was the interaction there that has kept me around these forums ever since. I was amazed (and inspired) by the generosity of many of the people involved and that's when I decided that this was an online community I would actually want to make an effort to make time for in my life.
^ This! :) Not sure if it indeed was my first post ever, but definitely that thread kept me going and indulge the Gog community in my life.
And yes, I do consider it a form of guilty pleasure I could never have allowed myself without the ongoing joy from that thread and the joint experience.

On a different note, it says •Free gifts• but so far we know of only 2 gifts. While 2 is definitely plural do you think there are more to come?

Zeus isn't usually on sales. Was 60% off at one point, but other than that it's usually just the 50% off that most of the catalog gets during these major sales.

If you include the movie, that's 3.

Well as I was counting "gifts" that would still be 2 (and yes, they could gift us a whole bundle at once but that's still 1 gift) :)
Shelter reminds me of this
repeats til 25th.this is going to be one hell of a boring sale til then. if they do rotating discounts they need to at least mix it up, or put new stuff up.
About insomnia...see how big last insomnia thread got before the end of that one.plenty of comments from new customers and not so regular forumites.the sale attracts plenty to the site on regular basis.
this sale seems to also be throwing up proportionately more indies on flash unless my eyes deceive me.
Anyone else sees $8.77 price for Deponia trilogy? When I click the bundle banner each game shows up as $2.99 and $8.97 in total but during checkout it changes to $8.77 again. Not that it's a giant difference but I was wondering if it is a bug or some regional thing.

Regional pricing could be factored in, as I'm seeing a completely different price.

Well for me its $8.77 every where except after clicking the banner - the banner says 8.77, the cart says 8.77, and the checkout says 8.77

Edit: I think it's a problem with the bundle pages like http://www.gog.com/promo/big_fall_deponia_series_bundle_151114
They always show prices in USD even you change the currency everywhere else on GOG, so I guess they are bugged/unpolished in some way.

It's 7,77 € for me !
I see Challenge of the five Realms hasn't entered this thread yet. I hope it does, I want to try that game but it might be too new.
