Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

Our 2013 DRM-Free Winter Sale will last until Sunday, December 29, at 1:59PM GMT. Happy holidays from GOG.com team, everyone! And again, sorry for the server issues in the initial hours of our sale.

CarrionCrow: Haven't seen anything from the azure demiGOGs on that one. Seems like they've been busy trying to make people happier with the whole redundant mystery present thing.
avatar
Azilut: Heh. I've been a victim of that myself, but I can't find it in my heart to complain that I have so many games that it's hard to randomly generate deals for me. :)
Yeah, can't find it within myself to bitch too hard about it in general. Saving lots of money while buying lots of games and not having someone trying to work me like I'm their hand puppet and going wrist-deep while fondling my wallet with their other hand when I have the audacity to want to treat purchased items as things I actually own.

Edit - It's bugging me that this post is sitting right next to an apology regarding server issues. You guys put out some of the most massively well-known items in gaming, FOR NOTHING! Server issues are kinda to be expected! Shudder to think of how much cash you had to put into ways for more people to get free items.

skeletonbow: Beware! It can happen to you too! I'm wondering if some of us should consider starting a GOG Anonymous group perhaps? LOL
avatar
Pica-Ludica: Good grief, I think I would really need that GOG Anonymous group. ^^;
avatar
CarrionCrow: Nah. No need to consider that until you start thinking, "Well, games X, Y and Z look like they could suck the chrome off a car bumper, but the collection just isn't COMPLETE without them!" If you find yourself doing that, then maybe.

Ophelium: Only in certain cases :P
Well folks - I am going to have to admit I need to join GOG Anonymous.
Not because I have reputed stinkers on my shelf like Deus Ex 2, Ultima IX, M&M IX, MOO3, and Gothic 3, would consider getting a reputed stinker (like Daikatana) just for the sake of owning historical poopers, but also because I have come to a realization:

I am addicted to buying GOG games and cannot stop, even when the backlog ensures I will not finish them all in my lifetime!

Someone, anyone, save me from myself!
Can anyone who owns Might and Magic 5 to 9 tell me about the downloadable soundtrack that comes with the games here in GOG? Is it in FLAC format or MP3?

Saw it on sale here and I was thinking of buying the entire bundle. I probably won't play all of them though but would just listen to the soundtrack.

MM VII & VIII soundtrack is mp3 320 kbps. No idea about 1-6 (not installed)

Do you own Anachronox by chance?

Edit - Actually, do you own any of the Might and Magic games?

Yes, he was quite generous with me earlier today. I gave him Daikatana, so perhaps I spurred him on.
Far worse things to do while going over wishlists and counting the minutes until the next round of the sale than spreading some items around. And between Daikatana, Judge Dredd vs. Death and Fahrenheit, someone is going to end up groaning and cursing, which is always fun.

This sale isnt addictive as insomnia one, but i keep coming back to the page and forums out of habit lol....stay up til 1am then sleep.. (when rollover to next day)....
Agreed. It's making me think I should hold a "lump of coal" giveaway after I wrap my current one up. I'd let the winners pick from this list (barring some obviously expensive choices).

Sounds about right. Also looking for an informal list of games that might be workable with Windows 8 in the hopes of expanding my wishlist a bit. Definitely feeling a bit cut off at the knees by this crappy operating system.

And to think I was considering getting Surgeon Simulator 2013 when it came up in my Brave New Worlds deal over the weekend...

It's definitely not a masterpiece, but it's funny. It's just something to fool around with when you're bored. I was surprised by the amount of miscellaneous junk you can fool with at the receptionist's desk.
