Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

I would take advantage of Icewind Dale II and the Might & Magic sale but I got some of the D&D games the other day so I think I'm covered with RPGs for now.
I loved the story of Icewind Dale.

It's deep and interesting. The difference betweem BG and IWD is that in IWD, it's not the story about the player character, contrary to BG. So it may feel like it's not great story, but I think it's epic. And story of Heart of Winter is great too.

And the most interesting (at least for me) part is that while I loved both Planescape and BG (I and II), I played IWD I most.

nijuu: And it should remain that way. Whats the point of community deal, if the losing bundle gets offerred at the end in an encore anyway????
Maybe giving the other part of the community a chance to purchase their preferred bundle? It is the holiday season after all...

Thanks for the comment.

I don't mind if story is not character driven, I do like good story but as long as it is not some random failure I'm ok with most of them. The thing I really do like from IWD (from the pictures) is that winter setting. So, it may be IWD after all.

Fair enuf. The only thing that bugs me about this sale is the lack of uniqueness of the deals. Mystery deals arent discounted any differently from the recommended deals (and many arguably wont be in a discounted community deal). Insomnia sale had higher discounts (with limited range admittedly)..

anyway how is the Vatican? whats it like over there? :)
"DAILY SURPRISE: PICK ONE SPECIAL OFFER FROM THESE 3 BOXES EACH DAYYOU OWN ALL OF THESE GAMES: RE ROLL"

So you can re-roll if you have the game already?

Supposedly. Tried it?

lol My library is so lacking that nothing has popped up that I own already.

The Insomnia sale was a completely different concept, can't make comparisons. If you think about it, this sale is not much different than last year's one or the summer sale. The Daily Surprise seems to be the new element (and yes, as a first try it has its issues).
It may feel less exciting or interesting, especially to older members, because the Community Deals are practically identical to the bundles we already got in previous sales - that part is possibly something that GOG should consider to refresh/ spice up in some way in future sales. I suppose the Recommended Deal is here to offer higher discounts on individual games, though the discount for newer games doesn't seem to divert much from the general 50% one.
Still, it's a good attempt at mixing different discount models and you have to at least give them credit for experimenting.

I give GOG kudos for trying to be creative and mix things up a bit. Cant be perfect :).
I just think im one of those members who have been around long enough (and have bought most of the games i wanted) to think a bit more of what im looking for (shrinking wishlist - lot of indies..less classics now) --> i think i need more of a discount on the indie stuff to be tempted to buy them...

Only asked because it seems to be mostly UK/US/Aussie/German/Brazilian (or at least it feels like it haha) customers ;)...kinda curious :P
Apologies if this has come up already (I skimmed all the blue-text in this thread and didn't see it addressed), but has it been established whether we'll get a second kick at the can for the "rejected" community choice bundles? As in, will they pop up again as an option at some point?
Is it just me or is GOG really bad at picking games for genre based promos? Fragile Allegiance is not a turn based strategy!

Haven't seen anything from the azure demiGOGs on that one. Seems like they've been busy trying to make people happier with the whole redundant mystery present thing.

Heh. I've been a victim of that myself, but I can't find it in my heart to complain that I have so many games that it's hard to randomly generate deals for me. :)
