Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

JMich: Yes. Repeats should happen before the sale ends, at least if GOG keeps the "tradition" of its last two sales.
Yes, if I remember right the 24th of December should be a wrap-up day and the last day also...

Sale ends on the 29th. Last two sales also had 2 days with everything on sale, one in the middle of the sale, the other at the end.

According to this list here, there was no "wrap-up" on Dec 24 last year - there was the End of the World sale on Dec 19 and an encore on the Jan 2 (last day).

Ok, I remembered the date wrong, but yes usually there are two major days. One in the middle and one at the end of the sale.
Just watched the video featuring today's deal (Icewind Dale x2 and Aarklash legacy). Branding the later as an rpg and an indie game feels wrong, twicely.

Edit : I mean, if Cyanide is an indie dev studio, is Blizzard too ?

Anyone else having problems with today's box offer? (nice they added a re-roll option if you already have the game)

edit: oh, it works again.

There's usually a "Longest Day of..." in these seasonal sales, but I don't think there'll be one this year since we're voting on promos. It'll probably be at the end of the sale.

When I had problems with displaying the boxes it said "you own everything from today's surprise? Reroll for one more chance!" or something like that, but it's gone now.

Maybe it didn't work and they disabled it for now.
I've never played first person RPGs. Not one made before Morrowind anyway. I wonder if I'd like the Might And Magic games...

I don't see why not - After all, EA is an Indie dev.

Ophelium: I own yesterday's promo, today's promo and whichever tomorrow's is. Is owning a little more than a third of the catalogue really that detrimental?
avatar
skeletonbow: I own 221 titles currently and I'd have to say "yes" hehe.

jackster79: Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.... :-O
Even with sales I did not acquire that many titles in that short a span, ever, in any of the GOG sales! Holy Smokes! I bow to you sir!

skeletonbow: I started out with a freebie in 2009, then over time picked up the odd other freebie that GOG added. It wasn't until about Nov 2012 though that I actually made my first purchase - largely because I never paid full attention to the website and GOG's philosophy with DRM-free etc., and also I'd never really been a paying customer of online digital downloads previously having preferred to buy all my games in a box in an actual store. But... that was then and this is now! :) I went from 10 freebie games a year ago to 221 in 12 months due to a combination of the crazy promo deals that GOG puts on and a small handful of games won in giveaways and some other freebies over time.

Beware! It can happen to you too! I'm wondering if some of us should consider starting a GOG Anonymous group perhaps? LOL
Good grief, I think I would really need that GOG Anonymous group. ^^;
Same story here: joined in 2012 on a friend's recommendation, but didn't pay attention to the company's policy and was wary of digital distribution. Having recently replaced my ancient laptop, I've rediscovered GOG... First, I bought a couple of games for the charity sale in November. Then I discovered the weekend sales, but I still only picked a couple of games each time. Then the Insomnia sale came along... and all Hell broke loose. So basically, in between November 10th and today (at the time of writing, that is), I've acquired 76 games over the various sales. It didn't seem like a lot while buying them a few at a time, but today I actually counted, and wept.
Sooo... GOG Anonymous?

Nah. No need to consider that until you start thinking, "Well, games X, Y and Z look like they could suck the chrome off a car bumper, but the collection just isn't COMPLETE without them!" If you find yourself doing that, then maybe.

Only in certain cases :P

Oh yeah, definitely. Right now I've got Deus Ex 2 and Daikatana wishlisted, and I've probably seen or heard people talking about how much sphincter they suck for literally years now. But it's that level of disgust and loathing that makes me want to see the trainwrecks in their full awfulness, rather than getting secondhand horror stories.
Something like, say, Judge Dredd vs. Death, though....That just looks bad. No infamy, just plain old bad.

Edit - Forgot one. Also wanting to get ahold of Master of Orion 3.
