Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

jackster79: I broke tradition today and went with Brave New Worlds for the surprise deal, and ended up with Surgeon Simulator 2013. It looks interesting, and I suppose for $2.00 I can take a chance, but I am interested in what the community thinks. Can some of you attempt to sell me on this one?
From what I've seen, it's the gaming equivalent of a gag gift. You're supposed to perform surgery, but the controls are so intentionally hard to use that it turns into a cluster**** real quick. So it ends up being you wrestling the controls, making mincemeat out of your patient, but trying to somehow keep them alive long enough to finish the procedure.
YEAAAAH

I REALLY hope the roguelikelike bundlelike (lol) wins. I absolutely love FTL (more than 100 hours of play time, easily) and the other 3 games of the bundle are on my wishlist, it'll be the perfect excuse to finally purchase them!

Happened to me too. Just logged in this morning and clicked the "New Games" present and got "Chronicles of Riddick", which I already have! Awesome game though!

It's up by 720 votes half an hour into day 4. Odds are good. lol.

nijuu: Someone mentioned about free game via the surprise box, but i see no mention of that...

JMich: Free games are mentioned in the promo mail.
Confirmed. There is a chance, that if you were very, very, very good this year (or you're simply lucky as hell ;-) ), you can find a free game in your mystery box.

Looking at the video preview and images of this game, it looks like it was slapped together during a drunken lunch break.

Damn it, I was tricked by this shirt and I was naughty. Not sure if that counts as being lucky though...

Ophelium: The daily presents have been underwhelming for me, to say the least.
Echo the sentiment.

Also would prefer a "here's 3 games on special, here's what they are, and you can only choose 1 of the 3".

That way IF I do not want "game 1" but am interested in one of the others, I'd go ahead and buy. As the DAILY SURPRISE promotion is implemented now, I believe it is losing sales for GOG. And isn't that the most important thing for GOG - to sell more so they can spend to acquire more licences?

It's annoying when I click on one of the mystery "presents"/offers, and wonder what else I missed out on (because I can't go back to click the other 2 if I do not want what I initially picked).
I will win either way, as I want Ittle Dew and Spelunky.

On the Un-Linked RPGs Pack, I have everything except Ittle Dew. On Roguelikelike Bundlelike I own everything except Spelunky and Pit Gold.

BTW, Rogue Lecacy is a wonderful game.

That is also what I gathered from the reviews posted on the game card. I was hoping someone here that has played it could convince me that it is a good one to play in a party-type of way with folks around taking turns trying it to see if they can do better than the last. But if the controls cross over into frustration territory, I am going to pass.

Of course, this is all a matter of personal taste and everyone's mileage will vary but I figured I could not hurt to solicit input.

Thanks to you both for your input. :-)

Buenro-games: I got Influx on the random deal, kind of reminds me of Marble Madness but with scenery. Wonder if it's worth it?
It's a decent little puzzle game, where you have to rotate the interior environments to get the orb where you need it to be. I'd say it's worth the discount price. Helps if you have a beefy PC, as it's a bit stuttery on mine at times in the exterior jungle environment, but not so bad that I can't play the game.
Ok, so I'm 4 for 4 now on striking out on the winter sales promos it looks like. ;) The two racing games don't appeal to me, I own the entire AD&D game collection already (but it's awesome it's there for others to get as I know many have been waiting!), and for the 4th day in a row the Mystery Gift Box has offered me a game I already own.

It's kind of nice to know a little bit of what's going to be on sale the next day with the voting thing, but it seems both of the voting options don't appeal to me for tomorrow so I'll probably end up striking out again tomorrow. LOL Guess I just need to cross my fingers the first promo box, or the mystery gift will offer me something I want and don't already have tomorrow.

I kind of like the format of the promos this year, but I was buying games almost every day last year and haven't gotten any at all yet this year. Please throw me a bone GOG! :oP
So, when does the sale end?

The presents are not fixed. Picking another box would result in another random old/new/all game. It's like asking for three chances instead of one. I see it now as a Scratch Card GOG is giving out, which should be seen as something fun and not something that generates negativity like "losing sales for GOG".

That's just the way I see it.
