2013 DRM-Free Winter Sale Video Recommendations playlist

Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

Our 2013 DRM-Free Winter Sale will last until Sunday, December 29, at 1:59PM GMT. Happy holidays from GOG.com team, everyone! And again, sorry for the server issues in the initial hours of our sale.

G-Doc: Quick note: We've made a YouTube playlist that's going to be updated daily with all the special recommendation videos. This is also the video posted in the OP, now. Hope this will make it more convenient to track all those :-)

JMich: The hepu59mF1ska youtube link seems to be a single video, not a playlist. You sure that's the correct link?
Hmph! That's the link the player I embedded in the news post gave me. It lied to me! Corrected in the forums now (it worked in the news post already). Thanks for being vigilant, as always ;-)
Strange that the random gift boxes seem not to link to the game pages so you can examine a game before clicking 'buy now'. Signal Ops came up and I decided to take a closer look, but I had to use the search box. :-/

Vigilo Confido :)
Really enjoying the sale overall, even as I grumble a bit that there's nothing that's screaming out for me to spend miney on today. My brain keeps trying to convince me on Pandemonium, but weird OCD hoarder tendencies can be a bitch like that. Have gotten Legend of Grimrock from the day 1 sale, Omikron from a personal mystery present sale, the Shadow Warrior remake, Gabriel Knight 1 and the Bullfrog Bundle yesterday. Didn't have any of those.
Now, it's just a waiting game, but I'm finding myself pretty okay with the prospect of having to hang out with the three average to semi-fugly sisters (TOEE, Dragonshard, Demon Stone) as a means to spend more time with the smoking hot one of the quartet (Icewind Dale 2).

I just noticed this today too. I got a game in my daily surprise that I hadn't heard of, and wanted to take a look at its reviews, but I had to go to the search box. A link would be convenient.
Those gift boxes are too random. :P Hoping to score a good one later on. So far only bought Gabriel Knight (which I had on wish list for such a long time). Still have plenty more cash saved up.
Im surprised they put up the D&D bundle for Vote. It would be a lopsided win against anything else they could bundle up

Maybe they were worried about oversaturation since Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, Planescape and Icewind 1 were all offered in the insomnia sale. Couldn't decide, so they left it to the community to figure whether they wanted that or something different but similar.

Well they left off BG1 and 2 off discount for some reason....
Maybe it might have been wiser to leave the D&D bundle til closer to end of the sale...or same day the other mob do their sale...

xy2345: But I agree, that the whole forced google+ integration is bs. I didn't have a google+ account before that. Now I have one, but of course it does not contain real information about me and I'm not using it. It only exists to allow me to comment on youtube.
And then they wonder why there was suddenly so many trolls. Curiously the 'new comment system' has so many negative votes it's a wonder how they thought this was a good idea. Google+ so far is a failed system, not necessarily bad, but being forced to use it gives a bad taste and makes everyone hate it. A good number of people aren't really aware of the integration since they had to get a Google+ for newer users (the last 2 years?).

I wonder how many content publishers are going to just walk away, since commenting by itself is such a pain in the butt now to try and get back with everyone. Course as I mentioned before, TotalBiscuit bypasses the comment system by referring you to Reddit instead. Seems like a workable system.
Those gift things are BS. I love getting discounts for games I own!
I hate to do it but i have to be honest. I really, really hate the bundle deals GoG offers.

I don't want to buy a crazy selection of games for 75% off each... all i want to do is cherry pick my one or two games and be done with the sale.

Look i appreciate the sales, I love GoG but i just had to pass on two games on my wish list because they were part of todays bundle and i had no interest in the other games being offered... That kind of sucked tbh.

I agree. They do lump some shitty games with some decent ones. Atleast it looks like I will be picking up Neverwinter Nights 2 tomorrow for a big discount since I already own the rest of the D&D stuff.

I know. I wanted Carmageddon 1+2, but those are 50% by themselves. Curiously if I got the rest of the package it only costed another $2 to get all the other games, making me feel uncertain about getting them; Sure I did but I didn't really want postal or the other games in the package.

Maybe if they had 3 teirs, 1-2 games, 3+ games, and the whole (or remainder of) bundle.

Be nice if you already had all the games if they offered a consolation prize worth some of the money you had already paid before; I already have tomorrow's games so having 'you already got all these we're sorry, how about something on your wishlist for free?'. That would be cool; Or a free gift of 1-2 of the games you can give to your friends at a later date...
Love this sale, but I've been bombarded with enough platformers for years. I would prefer to get every sim and strategy game on here, even the shitty ones, if it means I can go without getting another platformer. I've played most of them and found a few gems, but gaaaaaaaad

Really though, love the gog sale(s) so much.
