Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

Worldwide Money Back Guarantee announcement video

Our 2013 DRM-Free Winter Sale will last until Sunday, December 29, at 1:59PM GMT. Happy holidays from GOG.com team, everyone! And again, sorry for the server issues in the initial hours of our sale.

Everyone gets a different surprise. Apparently it wont give u something u have on ur wishlist though.
The random box apparently gives stuff from the other two boxes. You only try one box once per day

YellowJacketLE: Being a new member I was also given 7 additional free games mhuaa haa haa but you guys have probably already had them for ages and beat them lol
You could think that... but in at least one case (mine) you would be wrong. Of all the free games here, I have finished a grand total of ZERO. I supposed you *could* count Fallout 1, since that was given away for free before for a limited time (in addition to the current giveaway), but I finished it long before that so...

Yeah... all those free games and none finished. But then, when one has a large backlog conflicting with real life... sniff sniff... backlog loses. :-(

Now that that is out of my system, perusing the deals to add more to the ever-growing all-powerful backlog! :-D

Thats not correct, look above, the announcement says "Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games."

You've been able to gift the fallouts all day.

(I believe they re-enabled this at 5am-ish EST)

But I've gifted them just fine, I think it was turned off earlier while it was super super super busy, but when it got quieter they turned it back on.

Beneath A Steel Sky is a must if you like adventure games and for Revolution to release this for free is just awesome (has been freeware for long time now).

Just sitting here thinking... as I look over the deals, I came to the realization that my 250+ games on the ol' GOG shelf consist of most of the cream of the crop. And while I am always on the lookout for a good deal and a good game, there is a bit of sadness that comes with the knowledge that I can only buy a game for the first time once, and thus experience the thrill that goes with that.

With so many of the top-tier old-time games from the GOG catalog sitting on my shelf now, it has become harder and harder to experience that thrill again. The closest is when I look at my shelf, realize I have not played (or finished) a given game yet, and then proceed to (re)install it on my hard drive.

C'mon GOG - as soon as this sale is over, lets ring in 2014 with a bang and get those missing classics! (I know, the newer ones are still welcome, just trying to experience a particular kind of thrill more often than I have been lately).

In the meantime, off to hunt down more delectable classics that I have yet to add to my GOG collection.

Of the free ones, that one is next in line if I ever manage to finish Teenagent. I am trying like crazy to NOT use a walkthrough, but it is difficult. Lately, I find myself falling into the familiar pattern:

1.) I try a lot to advance
2.) Step away to take a break and refresh the mind
3.) Forget all gameplay actions I just did
4.) Repeat # 1.

Damn totally forgot about that one just played through Tex Murphy and just started playing the second one even though I probably should finish Torchlight, Dead Space and Batman : CA before playing any other games. Now you just added another game I need to play ASAP=).

Only played some of the first part of Teen Agent when it was released as a Freeware and could be played using ScummVM. Yes it seems to be a pretty hard game.
When I played Tex I needed a pen and paper and many old games more or less require that you write things down, helps a lot.

If you like avdventure games I recommend getting the fan made games of Sierra´s Space Quest and King´s Quest games.

This sale is fantastic, I haven't good anything yet as I'm really hoping to get some great goodies on the classic gift box! Crossing my figures for insanely good discounts on Thief Gold (have Thief II), Assassins Creed:DC, Indigo Prophecy, Alan Wake, and The Witcher 2. I can't decide if I should click Classic every day or Random Magic, so far I've gotten Raiden Legacy and Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology I got from the Classic box but I think I might keep checking it...I don't know. I am definitely going to several games richer these holiday season!
So I don't check GOG for a few days, randomly log in today, and I get 3 Fallout games for free. I love this site!
From what I can see you can get the Fallout one multiple times; gift them to friends, or yourself for a later date. Let's see if I can find anyone else I could send it to.
Ultraviolence pack is winning the vote :(

Has anyone actually bought anything yet?.
