Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

book99: No the spike is not past. I've tried to checkout several times throughout the day. And that's if the checkout page even loads. I will try again in a few hours.

Sachys: I found earlier that the games got added to my cart and by closing the gog tab and coming back a bit later i was able to access the cart and checkout.
Same here. Hopefully they turn the gifting FO's back on soon ;)
So, if someone is willing to trade my Jade Empire for his or her Papers, Please!, let me know ;)

Aye - though I do wonder how many scammers have mass grabbed them as gifts earlier to exploit / sell on somehow.

I'm confused on the difference between Recommended Deals and Community Deals.

Seems like there's THREE sales going on?

Recommended
Community
Personal Sale (pick one of three giftboxes to reveal)

Correct?

Not really
Main one = most games have % off.. that will last through sale
Recommended = hand picked at special % off
Community = vote for the bundle/game at higher than normal discount. its all part of same sale. first two are time limited
Which games are not on 50% sale? Anyone have a list of those?

BananaJane: When will the servers be up?

Ravenvolf: Would like to know too. Every time I try to do something, the website asks me to login and then fails. Sigh, hopefully it will be useful again soon.
Could be worse ...
It could let you buy a game and then end up with nothing but the money coming Out of your Bank account and the waiting for Support to sort it all out ... :(
Bummer ... Searched online for walkthroughs for Battle Realms and downloaded a few BUT ... no Game ..

maybe in an hour or so .... I Hope.

Same for me, and it was hours ago..

I don't want to bore them with it for now as they might receive lots of requests but i hope they will recheck all the sales and make an announcement about it, because the sales don't seem to be validated.. Even if the payments succeeded.
I am glad to read, that I am not the onlyone with connection problems. Although it is much better than it was some hours ago. But... Fallout games for FREE...wooohooo! :)

For anyone with problems like that, let support know. That happened to me during the insomnia sale, and a very nice person fixed my missing game issue within maybe an hour.
Is searching for games disabled?

Trine is currently 90% off. O_o

It doesn't seem to be mentioned as part of one of the daily deals though? I hope this is not a glitch ...

I wish GOG had a meaningful way to sort or filter games by price, if not by discount percentage. Well, it probably wouldn't be working right now either, but I guess it's the thought that counts! ;)
Hm. Those extra servers must have finally revved up, since browsing the site is back to its relatively usual smooth self.
Just wondering if anyone has been charged twice during this sale? I bought Rayman 3 and I was charged twice according to Paypal. I did e-mail a support claim hoping to get the extra $2.99 back, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the issue too.

I'm not downloading the game until I know only $2.99 was taken out and not $5.98. I love GOG, but if they put back all the money by mistake, I don't want a "stolen" game. I just want it for the sale price.

DRM Free is awesome and is the reason why I buy from GOG, but I'm not gonna abuse it or give companies a "See, see, this is why we need DRM on our games" thing.
