phaolo: 48 hours duration?! Noooo, only 4 daily offers remain, then..
avatar
nuuttiT: Not sure if people noticed but although the GOG frontpage indeed says 45 hours left, the promo page, when you click to open it, shows a deal where the timer says currently 21 hours left.

And I just noticed that the daily 'surprise' timer is also the same as the frontpage timer...

What could all this mean? I guess we'll see that in about 21 hours. =)
I was wondering this as well. Can't wait to see the next deals!
The timer thing might just be a glitch.

rtcvb32: Where is the 'rule by magic' picture from? Looks pretty spiffy, and I know I'd like to see more of it.
Google "king's bounty xeona" and you shall receive.

It's one of the wallpaper that comes with "King's Bounty: The Legend". I do not know if she is in the game.

Edit: Oops, I got Ninja'd I think is the term. I should have read till the end of the thread before posting.

I'd probably buy Jack Keane 2 for 75% off. That'd be, what, $7.50? Going by reviews, I'd say I've definitely paid more for worse. The all or nothing bundle discount makes it a hard sell though, already own Jack Keane elsewhere, sorry GOG you took too long, also have the Runaway games on disc and I'm not interested in digital copies without the original Spanish audio.
The long awaited Adventure Deal has arrived, but with some irony it seems - after the Insomnia Sale, pitting the Jack Keane games against the Syberia ones? Did anyone at GOG seriously expect that they stood a chance?

Sadly I already own all but one game in the winning bundle and I have to do some thinking about getting the missing one.

Can we hope to see one more adventure bundle before the end of the Sale?

CarrionCrow: Also voted for the Jack Keane/Runaway bundle. Considering how pleasant and good natured the developers of Jack Keane were, even as a ton of people made jokes at its expense, caused me to see them favorably. Also, have been curious about it since the Insomnia sale. What if it's awesome and it was just the price point that was off rather than the game itself?

jackster79: That is a good part of my sentiment towards it as well.

Ah well, maybe enough folks will be willing to give ol' Jack a chance, and in the spirit of Christmas forgive his past transgressions (like taking his sweet time during the Insomnia Sale).
I can only speak for the first Keane game, but that one was actually quite good. I got a physical copy along with a bunch of other recent adventure titles a few years ago and Keane was easily the best one.

It's certainly better than friggin' Myst! (But, yes, the price point is indeed off! You can get a physical copy containing both Keane games for less than €10 on German amazon. DRM-free, AFAIK!)

Oh well, if the Cinematic Adventures pack isn't chosen, at least it'll be available at some later point during the sale.

Allow me to quote GOG's "Letter to Santa":

"... Recently, we've experimented with some new things for GOG.com: we ran a charity fundraiser which (spoiler alert!) has raised tons of money for children, the poor, and wildlife all around the world; we teamed up with PC Gamer and Larian and gave away 3d-printed statues of dragons from Dragon Commander; we ran a pixel-art competition and were blown away by the great entries we received; we ran an Insomnia promo whereby we discovered the Internet's love for Jack Keane; ..."

So you see, with all the Internet love it gets, how could it possibly not win? :D

... I kid. ^^ But in all fairness, I believe the Keane bundle did get a lot of votes just out of Insmonia-born fondness (and/or Stockholm syndrome). :) I myself am now extremely curious about the game, and would actually like to try it (I managed to miss him on Insomnia sale - if you can believe that - since I only caught part of the third round).

not much of a choice between the two bundles.

I myself didn't suffer from Jack Keane as his first round run during my night/ sleep hours and I did not sacrifice my sleeping time just to whine while staring at my PC screen (then again, I didn't change my sleeping habits at any point of the Insomnia Sale).

I think that, regardless of the hard facts of the Insomnia Sale, the Cinematic Adventures bundle didn't stand a chance either way - it has a much higher starting price than the Globtrotter's Gear bundle (costs almost double as much, in spite the almost identical discount), and final cost is a major deciding factor; so those not having any of the games of the latter bundle will spend a lot less money for the same number of games (some of which are regarded as among the best of the genre), i.e. they're more likely to make a purchase, plus it's almost a no-brainer for those that own some of the Globtrotter's Gear games.

As I said earlier, I only miss one game from the Globtrotter's Gear bundle, but have none of the games in the Cinematic Adventures bundle on GOG. Would I buy the Cinematic Adventures bundle if it won? Probably not, but I am debating with myself whether to get the missing game from the Globtrotter's Gear bundle.
It all boils down to achieving the most sales possible. But when you put two uneven bundles up for vote, the whole voting procedure is rather pointless.

I am not really complaining, at least tomorrow brings something I consider buying (previous bundles were either of no immediate interest to me or I already own them) :-)
I burst out laughing when I saw "Jack Keane".

Perhaps I'm completely mistaken here, but didn't you have the chance to buy all the packs that were on offer (even those that weren't chosen) during the Solstice Festivmas mid-sale?

Sadly, not the ones that lost during the voting phase, only those that actually went live. Which means that if Dec 28 is going to be the day of an encore in a traditional context then it will just repeat the Globtrotter's Gear bundle. Either way, it's rather unlikely we'll ever see the Cinematic Adventures bundle or any of the Community Deals that lost - at least during this Sale.

Hmmm well I'll just drool for a while.

What what I can tell she can be one of your 'wife's and you can have children with her and they give bonuses, although if she's a playable unit/character I don't know...
