2013 DRM-Free Winter Sale Video Recommendations playlist

Section updated: Don't forget about your gamer friends that may not know GOG.com yet! Sadly, for the sake of unburdening what servers we have, we had to turn off the option for gifting free games. But you can always just let them know they can sign up with GOG.com and claim a free gift of Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics. On top of that, when they register to our service, they'll receive all the 12 free games we add to all the newly-created accounts. That way your friends will start their adventure with GOG.com with a collection of 15 great games total already on their virtual shelves! Be kind, share the good news! :-)

We'd also like to remind you, that all purchases on GOG.com are now covered with our new 30-day Worldwide Money Back Guarantee, so your holiday gaming shopping spree is safer than it ever was before.

cemtufekci: They could really put the settlers pack today which lost voting two days ago instead of this 4x deal. It's the third day they are offering the same deal. Settlers also got thousands of votes.
Good, for a second I thought I was the only one seeing that. It's sad we have the same deal but happy that I don't have a brain tumor.

Ghorpm: I got to re-roll my games, but only once. The second deal also contains three games I already own but I cannot re-roll anymore...

IAmSinistar: On the plus side, the "clear your session" trick still works. I was able to open GOG in three different browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome) and got different deals in each, provide I wasn't logged into GOG in at least two of them. Then by flushing my IE session and cache completely, I could go again to get more different ones. Did it until I finally got one I wanted (Sacrifice).

No idea if this trick can be used to get yet another deal within the same day, let's see.
Did u get a different discount to the one thats already been noted?

The session-reload trick won't let you buy a second bargain, even though you can still see one by doing that. So GOG programmed that bit smartly. And frankly it would be more trouble than it's worth to program around the session-reload anyway, so I don't fault them there.

Looks like the RECOMMENDED DEAL offers will probably be stuff we've already seen on the Solstice Sale day, but at least the COMMUNITY DEAL offers seem they will be new. A bit disappointing that they threw one there from before, rather than one which lost a vote, as they could have made more sales by posting the highest-vote-getting bundle that didn't make it.

No, it's the same discount as on the list Mondo compiled. And since you need to log in before you see the discount, you really couldn't game the system for a freebie either, since your selection becomes fixed at that point. All the trick really does is help you get a game you actually want.

hahaa not looking for a freebie :).

Didn't mean to imply you were. Just pointing out that it can't be used that way. Since I develop web applications, part of me is always looking for exploits (and ways to close them). :)

Im actually just wondering if there is indeed any variation in discounts as mentioned previously...
These daily surprise boxes seems to offer me the same things over and over again. I have been offered Commandos at least 3 times already and Wasteland 1 at least twice.

Why can't it show me something else, haha. Come on Thief 2.

I've only heard anecdotal evidence that it does. Frankly I think the prices are either per the Mondo list, or entirely free if you hit the randomiser just right.

yep i noticed that as well
Interesting to me is how Interplay games have shown up in the community bundles. I don't think Interplay put any games in bundles in the holiday 2012 or summer 2013 sales. They even pulled their games from the 50% off markdown one week into the summer sale. So, it's nice to see them join the party. :)
I seem to be having deja vu...
Haven't picked a box but don't have a reroll option. Hmm..
YES!! finally got Battle Realms at a good price :D

clear cache, open an incognito/private window, try an alternate browser if necessary, close browser and keep trying until deal you like appears, click on it and log in at the prompt
