NOW we're getting the free kick goals ... from Japan.

Andy_Panthro: Spain may also have a problem tomorrow, Chile will be looking to draw to win the group, and Switzerland should be able to beat Honduras.

Jep. However, Switzerland needs to win with 2 goals difference to surely qualify and even a top-notch Spain managed that just so - I don't expect them to achieve that, but keep my fingers crossed.
And if Chile plays against Spain as they did against Switzerland.... it will be an interesting match.

Arteveld: About that dirty European football, have You seen that Italy match today? With that "let's kick their goalkeeper in the face" thing? If i were that goalkeeper i'd punch back too i guess.;)

The goalkeeper held the ball. The worst thing in that episode is the italian player that rest in the ground looking for I don't know what, and Italy had to do a goal. That palyer were the best for italian team.

1st world cup and Slovakia beat the world champions ? Thumbs up guys. That's impressive and I'll cheer for you. Japan is the team that impresses me the most though. My favorite so far. I was hoping to see Cote d'Ivoire pulling through phase 1, at least. Oh well...
Strange world cup indeed but outsiders have a real chance to go pretty far this year. Also, I had high expectations on England - Germany, but after the latest events, I don't know what to expect.

Isn't the ball supposed to be kicked out by the goalkeeper after the goal? I'm sorry, but that was a brutal attack on the goalkeeper, the Italian player had no right to be there, as far as i get the rules. Thus only expanding my regard for Italian Football.;/
YEAH!
Portugal goes through without conceding a single goal. Very nice to have both Brazil and Portugal on the last 16.
Still, tough times ahead for both these teams, let's see what happens in Group H.
Pfff... 0 - 0
Coming up in 2hs is Spain vs Chile, a good match possibly.

Let's hope so, because Brazil x Portugal was disappointing to say the least.

Neither team needed to win, so this was a pretty guessable outcome. People expecting a mind blowing match played at full speed weren't being realistic.

No, I wasn't expecting that big of a match. I really expected a 0-0 or a 1-1.
I just thought Portugal would try harder... anyway, both teams gave up on the 2nd half.

I think above everything else Portugal wanted to go through on its own merits and not because Côte d'Ivoire failed to score a gazillion goals against DPR and that meant not to lose this match.
Well, they're both trough, i'm happy ;)

Yep, that's what matters.
EDIT: ahhh, I've forgot to post this: Goodbye, Italy and France! :)
