Well it's the same anywhere, isn't it? There are always going to be shitty trash papers and other ones that can do amazing things like spell, basic maths and going out and researching stories rather than making them up on the spot.

This probably means Portugal are through. I doubt Ivory Coast will beat North Korea 7-0, and I also doubt a lazy Brazil without Kaka will beat Portugal with more than 2 goals.

Portugal could likely go on even with a defeat against Brazil, yes. This game didn't changed my mind in regards to Portugal's lack of consistency but the truth is Brazil hasn't been that impressive. Maybe a draw is the most likely, considering that's a result that would get both teams through and that both teams will want to avoid needless injuries.
Just a side note, thumbs up yet again for Coentrão, another great match from him.

Yeah, there have been some really slow matches, too much tactics not enough football. Let's hope the pace picks up a bit after this because some matches were painfull to watch.

Whoever wins the G group (Brazil, Portugal, Ivory Coast and North Korea) goes against the second place of Group H, and the first place of Group H goes against the second of group G. I don't want to see Spain vs. Brazil on the final 8, since I like both teams, so I'm hoping for both teams to either finish first on their groups or finish second.
Now, there's also a chance of Spain fizzling against Chile somehow. If that happens I think they'll set a record of "favorites for the cup not making it to the final eight" since I believe it wouldn't be the first time that happens.
I'm also wondering what'll happen tomorrow with France. What I've been reading that's going on backstage is terrible. Chances are high they'll make a poor performance.

I was hoping for an "Escape to Victory" end to the match, where the crowd rushes onto the pitch and helps them escape to the freedom of the west!

I'm sure someone's already mentioned it, but I hate those vuvuzelas. Nothing like waking up at six in the morning to listen to angry drones of bees.

Maybe that would have happened if the koreans had Pelé and Sylvester Stallone on their team.

So, let me get this straight. Our team get's bashed just as much (IMO much more) as the American team by the referee, then he disalows a goal, and now we bribed him to do it. Should have been the same referee as we had on the match with Algeria, that one at least pulled a yellow/red card on a handball when he SAW it. If our team does come through, we'll never hear the end of it.
Now that that's out of the way, can't wait to see how much more of the N. Korea's team defects after this loss.
