Since this topic is about FMV games, if you guys want to see some of the more terrible FMV games out there check out <span class="bold">THE SPOONY EXPERIMENT</span>. Spoony is easily one of the funnier reviewers out there, and he does cover quite a bit of FMV games (he's currently riffing on Ripper). Check out the FMV Hell section of his site to see hilarious videos of Johnny Mnemonic, Microcosm, Sewer Shark and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Those are some of the prime examples of the worst FMV games had to offer.
Anywho, although a good chunk of FMV games were pretty damn terrible, I still have a love of those types of games. I remember the first time I played Gabriel Knight II, it blew me away when I was a kid. Some FMV games I'd love to see include:
The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery
-Easily the best FMV game ever made as far as I'm concerned. I still think it has one of the best stories and storytelling in any video game ever made. I also thought the acting was pretty damn good for the time.
Phantasmagoria
-I haven't played this one in a LONG, LONG time so I don't remember how good it is. But I had fond memories of playing this when I was younger, so I wouldn't mind seeing it.
Ripper
-To be fair, some of the acting was fairly cheesy in this one. But even so, I really liked the storyline and the puzzles were genuinely hard. It even had 4 different murder suspect endings, although they were only slight variations so it wasn't as cool as I had originally hoped. That, and you never knew which ending you were gonna get.
Black Dahlia
-I never actually got to play this one all the way through, but from what I saw it was actually really good. Good story, good acting...just a good experience overall.

I still have copy of "Realms of the Haunting". never finished it.

Not really a good game but Mad Dog McCree, I love the cheesy acting and love light gun games. The rest of the FMV games I can think of were all console based like cobra command.

Not any of the new ones, no. I'm leaving them to their squabbles until they can actually work out between them what they should be doing instead of just competing for a legacy.

90s games with significant FMV? How about C&C? Some of the best cheesy acting and bad effects coupled with the fact that Joe Kucan can actually act. Tiberian Sun was even better, added Micheal Biehn, James Earl Jones and Monika Schnarre (mmm tasty!). Also CABAL's voice was pure dripping malevolence
Wing Commander 3 & 4 were also excellent, some great actors in there, mark hamill, john rhys davies, malcolm mcdowell, also a former porn star.

That's BS. Some of them were great. No worse than any other genre, honestly. There were just fewer of them because they were expensive to make and PC exclusive (mostly excluding some dreadful Sega CD games) because of CD-Roms.
7th Guest and 11th Hour were phenomenal if you like puzzlers. Realms of the Haunting was another great one. GK2, Tex, Amber:Journey's Beyond (forgotten classic there).
Black Dahlia was obscenely hard, even by adventure game standards. Otherwise, it wasn't bad, but that kills the fun factor. Plus it's what like 8 discs?

Yeah, it's 8 cd's and after cd6 you have to return to cd 5 for the catacombs part, so yeah it's a long game. And granted, it's an all around hard game, but that doesn't necessarily cuts down on the fun factor. Sure, some puzzles are crazy hard, like assembling the runes on Dahlia's casing, but not much more than say, figuring out Ahnonay on POTS or the notorious Spire's Spider Chair on Revelation.
Anyone who didn't play this one yet is missing out on a great game with loads of historical content, a great atmosphere and loads of great puzzles, some of them quite unique. Absolute must for the NOIR crowd.
Amber JB is a trully underrated game but one of my favourites actually. I originally set up my Windows98 VM for the sole purpose of playing Amber and Lighthouse. The only complaint regarding Amber, it's too short. But there's some very interesting original thinking in there and it's a game i'll never forget. Also, not really FMV...

"Phenomenal" games that gained only average reviews. I can't say I ever heard anyone raving about how great they are. I haven't played them, true. But consensus of opinion seems stacked against them.
I loved that game. It's fantastic. I would like to see it here too. Already voted for it. But it wasn't really a FMV game to my mind. It contained its fair share of FMV, true. But you wouldn't really call C&C or Wing Commander FMV games just because they had cut scenes, would you?

Yeah, Amber was surpisingly good. I still haven't played Black Daliah though.

Even if it's not from the early 90s, and if it's more interactive movie than a game (depending on each one's opinion), I'd be happy to play the first X-Files game again.
