Ultra fast-paced and intense action, hordes of alien scum, huge arsenal of deadly weapons and gallons of alien blood - this week it's all about the renowned Unreal series!
You'll need a good eye, superb reflexes and only $8.49 to grab each Unreal game this week. Until Monday, August 31 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, we're giving you a 15% discount for all Unreal games available on GOG.com: [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/unreal_gold]Unreal Gold, Unreal Tournament GOTY, Unreal 2 The Awakening Special Edition and Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice Edition. It's not a bundle promotion, so you're getting the discount if you buy one of them or all four! Check out the promo page for all details.
I was waiting for something like this! Now my collection is complete :)
Blast! I already have them on CD and on Steam! I can't quite justify a GOG version as well just yet :)
Of all the FPS games, the unreal franchise is probably my favourite of the lot. UT2K4 has a huge amount of content in the game, and in mods, the singleplayer mode is quite nice as well if, like me, you shy away from multipleyer modes.
Got them all, on GOG and physical. I really hope Epic will return to the PC one day,and continue the franchise that truly made them great. And I'm not talking about Gears of War.
Anyway, I would recommend anyone who still don't have these games to delay no further, and pick 'em up now. I remember emerging from the Vortex Rikers in the original Unreal back in '98, and I thought I was looking at the future of FPS games. Here I came out from the gloomy corridors, into a living and vibrant world! The game itself did turn out to still be of the FPS 1.5 type; there are still keys to hunt down, mazes to navigate, and tons of monsters to slay, but it is kept rather fresh throughout by clever enemy placements, intelligent scripting, and wonderful (for their time) vistas to behold. I even found Unreal 2, which was blasted by some, to be fairly decent; I would certainly have liked more character development and more interaction with the crew of my ship, but it wasn't a bad game per se. Just a very generic one.
Though really Unreal Tournament (the original and UT2K4) is indeed where the franchise shines at its best, even in the single-player bot-ladder. There are simply tons of content in the official game, and tons of mods to be found online after that. Multi-player is also incredibly fun, especially co-op Assault and Onslaught modes, and this comes from a man who usually only plays single. UT is one of my few exceptions. Two thumbs up! Way up!

If I didn't already own these wonderful, brutal, gorgeous games in nearly every format known to mankind, i would spring right on this. Well, perhaps I can at least convince a friend to stop "borrowing" my Unreal Tournament 2004 CD Key. coughcoughidiotcoughcough

Uh, and how long this will be a temporary inconvenience not to have the option to install both product (Unreal 2 and Unreal 2 Multiplayer) on the same PC? Seams a little strange to me.
I think I'll pass this time... I already have them on Steam :/
BTW descriptions on each gamecard are the same as on Steam.

I suspect that is controlled by the publisher, in the same way that the back of the game box is the same regardless of the store you purchase it from.

You're right lol.
I thought that descriptions were written by GOG staff :P
is it just me or does UT need to come to XBLA?
