Im sorry, but lukaszthegreat is right. You ruined OP's game. I was planing to take part in it on my free time but now it is no fun.

I'm fine however this contest turns out (which is to say, I regard it as up to nmillar whether it's okay to reveal that much or not) -- however, speaking generally, and not about this contest in particular, I have to say that I think there's a difference between a hint, even an overly broad one, and just giving the answer away. I would be annoyed to have the answer to a puzzle just handed to me before I was done trying to solve it.

Yeah, little bit unfair since i spend 2 hours (nearly) finding the origin of the symbol on my own. But there still more step to complete it.

even with that hint i still dont get it though.

Actually give it a go anyway - the font I linked seems to be missing a couple of chars and, unless the font is also getting the letter placements completely wrong the final process doesn't seem to be a simple rot13 or anything else simple I can think of either
I DID know there was a process to perform on the text after the decryption so I knew it wasn't a complete give-away anyway

It's not like I knew the font beforehand though - I had to start from scratch just like everyone else - tried Nomad Soul, Radiohead and Unkle before I stumbled on it!

Enh... I see your point, but I can suggest some more targeted searches, based on the information previously provided, that would get you the result within the top 10 hits, although you'd still have to do some reading. Some people are into cataloging this stuff kind of generally.

Kind of a moot point though.
