One means of censorship happens to be not BUMPing a thread :P
Curiously, I can't think of any good examples to contribute, even though I'm absolutely sure I know a few. Only think I can recall is recently, the CBC blurring out some footage of cicada sex. Was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but sarcasm doesn't carry far in media. They had to clarify the next day :P
EDIT: I remembered a more historical example. You remember how McD tried to rename French fries to freedom fries when France opposed the invasion of Iraq? Well, a more persistent example occurred in 1917, when the US entered on the side of the Entente against Germany and Austria. It was deemed highly unpatriotic for Americans to keep enjoying Frankfurters, whose namesake was a major German city. So, to this day, we all still enjoy hot dogs, occasionally called Franks, though few know why ;)
