Tiefood: The only good 007 is the ones with Sean Connery.
Agreed. I was raised on those. My dad and I would binge on junk food and I would stay up past my bedtime and watch 007 movies. Esp the Sean Connery ones. Those ones will always be my favorites.

Elmofongo: Though of course imo not as perfect as Casino Royale, but immensely better than that confusing shit that was Quantum of Solice.

There simple and short explination of the movie

(No spoilers)
Hmm, Quantum of Solace wasn't confusing. Unless of course you thought there was a plot to be seen, in which case, I can see you getting quite confused as you try and follow the non-existent plot.

I'm glad to hear that Skyfall is much better. It's a shame that this will probably be the first 007 movie since they started making them again with Golden Eye that I won't see in the theater.
I love the change in direction they went with the Bond franchise with Daniel Craig. Probably my favorite Bond (just ahead of Connery). To be honest, I was growing pretty weary of the constant campiness that was the Bond franchise with pretty much every Bond movie no matter who played 007.

I thought Casino Royale was an excellent bond flick (and from what I remember of reading the book way, way back, it seemed to be fairly true to the general story and character). Quantum of Solace was, unfortunately, somewhat lacking, but I hold out hope that Skyfall will at least be on a par with Casino. I plan on seeing sometime this weekend.

Those new Bond movies with Daniel Craig are just like RAMBO movies mixed with Assassins Creed acrobatic stunts. James walks into a room and BANG he fights with some bad gay, killing him of course, he looks outside a window and BANG another bad guy is dropping on him from above, he kills him of course (James changes his clothes to another expensive ones because he got smeared with the bad guy's blood) and there are already new bad guys on the horizon just waiting to be beat up so James chases them on rooftops, construction yards, etc., making some impossible stunts, jumping and climbing here and there avoiding bullets and other stuff and at the end of this mad chase he kills those bad guys and walks away acting so cool like nothing just happend. Where is the true Bond in here??

Yeah, the character of Bond (as well as the story as a whole) was much more in line with the books than most of the movies. In any case, I enjoyed Skyfall, but I'm also not nostalgic for the old flicks so I can enjoy both the old ones and the new ones. :) I actually thought Skyfall was better than Casino.

(I still find it hard to take Craig seriously Bond, though. I think it's his lips and ears.)

Oooh, I like the sounds of that!

Before I saw the first movie, I felt pretty much the same. But after the movie was over, I said to myself "This guy is Bond." I really thought/think he's that good. The only other Bond I like even remotely close to Craig is Connery (but Connery is one of those rare actors that makes anything he's in worth watching).

Yeah, he definitely does a good job, and I think he actually did a bit better in this one (seemed a bit looser), it's mainly just when I see him in prerelease media and such.

That was mostly Quantum of solace. I think Skyfall is just the 3rd Daniel Craig Bond film.

Personally, I like Daniel Craig in the series. He has the crass cold heartedness of Timothy Dalton's portrayals along with the coolness of Connery.

He's certainly a far better bond than David Niven or George Lazenby for that matter.

As far as folks hating the latest movies. I haven't seen Skyfall so I'll reserve judgment. Quantum of Solace suffered from incompetent screen writing. No number of cool gadgets or one liners is going to save a movie that is that structurally unsound in terms of script and plot.

Casino Royale was more or less a masterpiece. Well, as much of a masterpiece as you'll find in a franchise dedicated to large explosions, sex and various antisocial behavior.
