LiefLayer: I got here in 2013 so I don't really remember the max price of 10 dollars, but I remember that games where cheaper without the regional pricing and some sales where amazing. Still I can accept to pay a little more than that. The problem for me is the DRM... I don't pay anything for DRM, if I pay for DRM it's only if I know I can remove it and there is no alternative (like for ebook manga, they all got drm, but I can remove it with a calibre plugin and backup so I don't really care).
When it comes to DRM, the rule should be simple: If it has it, don't buy it. If you really want it, there are other ways to obtain it, without supporting those who treat you as a criminal by default.

For digital manga here in italy there are still at the beginning, it's like middle age of digital manga. I don't even care about drm for that reason (I just remove it as soon as I buy a digital manga) I just want to support the idea of digital manga right now with italian editors.
Also I like the (drm-free made by me) version that I can buy, better quality than scan, less space on my hard disk and I like the amazon cloud platform.
I'll start to support drm-free digital manga when and if there will be an alternative for italian digital manga and, of course, if I cannot remove drm I'll stop to buy anything (they already know that I'm removing the drm, I'm not even sure why they bother to use it at all, it's so weak...)... right now I'm just glad they started to publish digital manga at all... before that you could only get a physical version (double the price, much more difficult to store, low quality paper).

For games that's different. There are good drm-free alternative. It's not always easy to remove the drm. I got so many games to play that I can decide to ignore a lot of games release.

In the end I just don't care about drm if I can remove it, I just liked gog because there was no reason to worry about drm and I'm angry that they lied about it. If they decided to say "from now on we will sell also drm games, sorry" I could accept that, I would just avoid drm games and/or remove the drm.
But since they lied I decided to just stop buying from gog.

Gudadantza: Monuments of Mars, Pharaoh's Tomb, Alien Carnage and Arctic Adventures have been available as freeware in the 3DRealms site for months if not years
Quite a few years by my reckoning for those, if not exactly all of them.

Great to see them at ZP though, and I grabbed them all anyway.

Good to see some other additions too.

Rise Of The Triad at GOG comes with the 42 level Extreme addon pack.

Does ZP offer some kind of client/downloader that allows for pausing/resuming downloads?

I don't think so though I'm not entirely certain. Most games they sell are older anyway and not huge in size so I imagine there's no need for it.

Shame, my connection is not very fast, so I rely on pausing/resuming. Perhaps if they ever implement this in some way, I may give them a shot.

Zoom Platform does not have a client or downloader and the impression I have is they do not intend to make one. They want to keep things simple, focus on offline installers and differentiate themselves from sites like GOG.

They did mention on their Discord that they may at some point look at making their installers compatible with third-party clients/downloaders (but they wouldn't ever seek to incorporate things that link in with the games, like achievements, social media).

They give a straight forward download link (I think), so easy to use most third part downloaders with them. I use Free Download Manager 5 if the files are big enough. FDM5 has multiple threads and resume etc. I queue up the downloads in it.

Links used to time out after an hour. But due to some user feedback (slow connections), we extended this to 12hrs. I am fairly sure downloaders will be OK, long as its under the 12hr window

Goodo.
I think I probably downloaded all mine within an hour, so never knew.
Yeah the concern is more queuing up a load of downloads, then wonder why they don't work later. Should be OK for most with the 12hr window now.

What did you use to create that checker?

As you just quoted some reply of mine that does not have the word checker in it, I am not really sure what you mean, as I did not create FDM5 and it just downloads, doesn't do any checking outside of that.

If however you got my posts mixed up and quoted the wrong one, and are asking about my GOGPlus Download Checker program, then the details are here - https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gogplus_download_checker

Please feel free to ask your same question in that thread, if you still need to, and it is what you were after.

Cheers
Just noticed that GOG now have a couple of games I bought at the ZOOM Platform a while back, and going very cheap here at 50% off. Not that they were very expensive at ZP, hence why I bought them there.

Desert Thunder
Gun Metal

I'm thinking of buying Street Racing Syndicate by the same devpub, here at GOG for $2.29 AUD ... released at same time.
Not sure if that is also available at ZP.

EDIT
Yes it is available at ZP for $2.99 USD.

I am guessing I overlooked it, because I probably would have paid that price. Not that the same video clip there is all that revealing ... more the promo type, than actually seeing what game play is like.

For $2.29 AUD I've decided to take a punt and buy the game.

Thanks to some help, I am now working on an almost complete revamp of ZOOM Checker.

Here is a preview of the work in progress.

SCREENSHOT - https://github.com/Twombs/ZOOM-Checker/blob/main/Work%20In%20Progress/ZOOM_gui.png?raw=true

This new update has much quicker and full automation of title and price checking, plus lots of other nice features.

Stay tuned!
