From the best to the... least good, I guess.

1. Neverwinter Nights - if there could only exist a single computer RPG, that should be the one. Infinite replayability and moddability, great multiplayer, a whole lot of classes, thousands of adventures... and a great toolset for creating your own. This is a game that can be a substitute for story-based RPGs, for sandbox RPGs and for MMORPGs all in one.

2. Pokemon - yeah, well, you didn't say anything about jRPGs, so I guess they count! Pokemon is great not because of its storyline, but because of its gameplay - especially on the competitive level, this is the game I've had the most fun with in my life, I think.

3. The Witcher - and I mean the first Witcher (I know, weird, huh?) This game has such an amazing atmosphere, which is reinforced by its amazing climatic soundtrack. Its combat system, shunned by many, is original and feels very satisfying when you manage to finish that 5-hit combo of group style attack, killing several enemies all at once! I'm not a die-hard fan of realism in RPGs, but the fact that you could carry only several weapons (two main swords and some extra weapons at the belt) added to the immersion, as well as these carried weapons being visible all the time on the character. Finally, it doesn't have too much politics (I'm looking at you, Witcher 2!). I might get devoured by saying this, but I prefer the first Witcher to the latter two, though Wicher 3 is still a great game.

4. World of Warcraft - I'm not a fan of MMORPGs, but WoW was very climatic and fun to play up to Wrath of the Lich King. Pretty much the only MMO I've played for a longer time.

5. Gothic 3 - exploring the plains while listening to the wonderful soundtrack of Gothic 3 is so mesmerizing that I won't ever forget it. Its storyline felt lackluster, but I had amazing time enjoying the game world this game offered.

Dean_Demon: 3. Bards Tale 3
Let me point out: The DOS version of Bard's Tale 3 has numerous gameplay bugs that make the game less enjoyable (for example, dragons don't breathe fire), and therefore it (and the Amiga version) should be avoided. Play one of the other versions (Apple II or Commodore 64), or at least look for a patch for the DOS version that fixes some of the bugs, if you want to play this game.
1 Baldurs Gate II
2 Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines
3 Witcher 3
4 Final Fantasy VIII
5 Morrowind, Shivering Isles (Oblivion)

Haven't played Planescape Torment and Fallout 2 yet.

The Amiga version was my favourite out of all of them, still have it on disc in fact.

Have high hopes for Torment: Tides of Numenera - But still far too many months to go...
