Themken: I wonder, are the rules for video games the same as for films? Then it will take a looong time before the first video games will become public domain.
Yo, biatch, me no paying no ten buckazoidos for a 26 year old movie! Me King Kong, me destroy all, biatch!

Do you work for free? Neither do the people at GOG.

Consul, no one du work for fri....
No, they aren't. Now sales offer very enticing deals for purchases in pointless bulk and the discounts keep getting larger and larger. Same applies to new releases/early discounts, as well. Or the new-found developer-specific sales. The secret is "timely fashion" (in order to notice said deals).

As long as old policies keep being axed, they HAVE TO improvise refund policy and cheaper price tags, in return. Who would have thought that uninspired immitationism (steam-wannabe-ism, mostly) and competition, would bring over such changes? Now you have incentive applenty to actually overbuy stuff; senselessly at that, too. Age old dilemma of quantity VS quality and all that jazz; or modern&flashy VS Good&Old...

He he he

The prices are fine! They are fine European premium prices, made in America!

Don't be ridiculous, King Kong doesn't have the speech patterns of Bizarro Superman.

vjjarvin: *****, I ain't paying 10 bucks for a 26 year old game. Especially one I paid full price for 26 years ago when the ******* thing was published. You people defending this **** are ******* crazy. This thing should be public domain by now. Accepting **** like this makes you part of the problem.

Huh. Not only did you play at necromancer, you've chose to complain about a video game being sold for 10 bones. Which was previously explained, had you even taken a single moment to read over the previous contents of the thread instead of smacking your face into a window.

If you're too poor as to worry over 10 dollars, then reconsider your financial decisions. If you're too much of a skinflint to pay 10 dollars, that's entirely an issue between you and your shrink.

While many people agree that copyright law should be redefined, especially on matters of public domain, your take is a bit of an insane read, if you think an actively maintained franchise/series/title should enter the public domain in under 30 years.

While I agree with some of your points, that comment (quoted above) is certainly elitist and childish.

Everyone has different resources... and different priorities. And TBH we're talking about a very low priority product in the grand scheme of life (although high enjoyment) -- games.

Ascribing a lack of resources or poor life choices to someone who simply questions price points is certainly the height of elitism.

The OP has already been made aware that GOG doesn't set the prices... and that there are plentiful sales.

That should be the end of it.

Trying to then tear him (or her) down is childish.

Reminds me of that Eddie Murphy bit "Nah, nah, I got some ice cream. I got some ice cream. But you can't have none, but you can't have none. Cuz your daddy's on the welfare!"

C'mon
