So we have the worst, the best.. What I want is the most mediocre, so-so, not bad, not good RPGs.
GO!
In no particular order.

1.Fallout 3- it's by no means great, but also not nearly as bad as some make it out to be.

2.Oblivion- a lot of good stuff about it, I spent a lot of time playing it, but it also has plenty of shortcomings, some just silly, some annoying, and for all the fun it can be, does not really amount to a truly great game. Also, the ending to the main storyline sucks balls.

3.Aarklash Legacy- a lot of fun, the characters are rather original and I really liked the art style, but there isn't really much to the game, and ombat can get pretty repetative once you discover a strategy that works well for you.

4.Mass Effect 2- take everything that was good about ME1 and make it less so. End up with pretty much the very definition of "mediocre".

5.Blackguards- a very by-the-numbers fantasy RPG. Good tactical combat, but the element of luck is abit to important to call it great, the story is nothing memorable, neither are the characters, but it still plays well, builds the rather dark mood well... it's ok. The "good" kind of a middle of the road game, if you get my meaning.
Morrowind. Starts of really well, like it's the best game ever made, and then I get bored :P

Did even do the Bloodmoon expansion part of the game?

If so how was playing in Solstheim (Or Skyrim before Skyrim?)

can't believe that got a legit response and that fast. nice work, gog forum!

I don't really have any middle RPGs off the top of my head.

I Oblivion never really grabbed me but I'm sure somebody would take issue with that so not officially stating that one.

Dink Smallwood. that's a middle RPG. it's got gameplay problems and and some graphical issues but it was an honest effort and had good humour.

Beyond that I don't know. Some funky one I played on the SNES. can't remember the name.

No I don't believe I did. I will admit though, the main reason I get bored is probably because I tend to run to the wiki and ruin the sense of mystery. At first it's just to check and get a little help with a quest, and then before I know it I'm looking up entire quest lines because I want to progress faster. It's too much of a time investment for me to play the game properly.
Jade Empire - pretty much a oriental reskin of KoTOR with the standard Bioware plotline. But really quite fun even if it's not setting the world on fire.
Hm... really cant think of that many, it either works and gets me immersed or .. not. ;)

But those come to mind:

Neverwinter Nights 2 Main Campaign (although its very close to "good", i enjoyed it, but characters and story really arent that outstanding)
Shadowrun Returns - Bit too straightforward and linear
Oblivion (its kinda bland... and the main story is boring... but it kept me interested enough to play through, thats more than i can say about Skyrim)
Temple of elemental evil - id like to rate it higher, the mechanics work pretty well, character setup too.. but it just felt kinda grindy and there wasnt much to spice things up a bit.

ME is not an RPG. It's merely a decent third-person shooter franchise with more plot and dialogue than most. Hell, I can apply points to my characters in the Jedi Knight series as well. That doesn't make them RPGs either. =P

I'm sure this forum has seen enough "is that still an RPG" discussions. I know I have :P

So true. :D
Meh.
Ah, this I can do. I try not to waste time on bad games, at least not bad RPGs, as that means investing a lot of precious time I could be wasting on playing so-so games. Such as (descending in quality):

0) Neverwinter Nights. Unlike the other games on this list, I've replayed NWN. Assuming teenage me wasn't smarter or more capable than adult me, I'd estimate ~300 hours sunk into the game and its two expansions. And yet, I still complain. It wasn't bad. It was just...middling. I wasn't bored, even by the oft-maligned "main" campaign - I just wasn't entranced, amazed or pleasantly surprised by most of it either. The phrase "comfortably numb" comes to mind.

1) Baldur's Gate. Well, obviously. It's embarrassing how by-the-numbers this is for a (December, even) 1998 game. The cRPG genre has been a thing since 1975, and for anyone to pull shit like that is downright brazen. Or so I would like to say, but people keep doing the exact same shit even today. FFS.

2) KotOR. Hah, I know, I know, it's all Bioware. At least I stopped playing their games after this one, meaning you're spared reading about Jade Empire, Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I wrote a long rant about KotOR on the finished games topic, and I don't feel like repeating myself, but there's nary a worthwhile thing in it. The combat is what they'd been doing since BG, therefore sufferable. Small bits of companion-related humor. Everything else...egads...this could have went on the "worst" list, in the sense that the only really positive thing about it was the sequel.
I quite enjoyed before dying of boredom....

1) Two worlds 1 & 2

2) The summoner 1

3) Jade empire

4) The elder scrolls: from 1 to pick what you want

5) Risen 2

Others, older/newer

Oh yeah, that. I bought that thinking that I was going to get an interesting 3D cRPG with a unique fantasy setting.

What I got instead was a lame rhythm/QTE game with way, way too many fantasy tropes.
