It's gambling, and I wish (upon a star) that this sort of offer becomes illegal someday.

uh what

Games in stars are available in the regular sale for roughly the same prices. The games themselves are the same, too -- I'm not getting an incomplete game and I'm not at an automatic disadvantage just because I bought it off the shelf.

Lootboxes are on the other hand
- frequently the only way to buy something (or you can work without pay for months, lol)
- paywall off parts of the game
- disadvantage players who don't buy them, thus making the whole purchase worthless
- combined with preorder exclusives, if you wait for reviews and lootbox rollouts, you're getting a crippled experience; if you preorder only to find out a lot of the content is locked up in lootboxes, you're also getting a crippled experience.

I don't know if your post is supposed to be a defense of lootboxes or a condemnation of stars -- either way it's bad and you should feel bad. Also stars are awesome because they're cute and purple.

It's just a matter-of-fact comment. Despite everything you write, the statement is still true. And it doesn't mean anything. Just like the OP. :P

I'd totally buy a star if I knew how to move it. Also, destabilzing the whole solar system might be an issue.

Wait, you mean one can play the games bought on GOG? I thought it was just for collecting, and I was sort of sad I'm still few pieces just below 1000...
