A sweet Demo for the upcoming game The Universim is now available, DRM-Free on GOG.com.

Looking forward to creating your own startup civilization and launching it into the cosmos? Then don't miss your chance to try this free Demo, which offers a brief look at what the game's Procedural Planet Generator can do, in terms of creating living, breathing environments. Keep in mind, though, that the gameplay mechanics are limited for the purposes of this demo.
Very nice, thank you, Crytivo Games :)
Oh yes, finally. Really looking forward to the game.

This demo is intended only to display the Procedural Planet Generator, so all gameplay mechanics are disabled.
Hmm, although i'll try the demo (thanks!), i think that buying the game while it's still In Development it makes up for a better demo, right? I mean, with no-questions-asked refund you can try it with confidence.

Yep, but you cannot buy the game yet, can you?
low rated
I'm afraid to try it, get hooked, and then be looking at some outrageous price tag. :P

Happens to me all the time, and I always cave.
Gameplay mechanics disabled? What does this mean, you only get to look at the planets/environments, and can't really do anything?
How love how much this reminds me of Populous : The Beginning

This demo is intended only to display the Procedural Planet Generator, so all gameplay mechanics are disabled.

Indeed and I have played it and tbh its really not worth bothering with this version of the demo, I hear in future it will be updated as new features become available, so my advice is hang on for them because its not much fun as it stands tbh.
I don't see the demo on the site? a glitch or maybe you made it Galaxy only? if so I am waiting for full release.

More or less that, it appears there are some buildable stuff but I don't understand much how to play. Their interface seems clear enough but the introduction is a bit rough.

I abandonned when the second research wouldn't advance (stuck at 30 seconds). :/

They link to it up there but just in case:

https://www.gog.com/game/the_universim_demo

You have to go through the checkout to get it added to your account and then you get the download links.

Hope this helps

Huh. Not sure I see the point of that. A demo, in my mind, should at least give you a taste of the game mechanics to let you decide if it's going to appeal to you at all. Just seeing the procedural generator doesn't seem of much use to me. Still, it's free, so nothing lost but a bit of time, I guess.
Well, you get to see so much more content right now than us beta backers for quite some time, yet they do make progress. Steadily.
