J/k, that's exactly what they are. But these are special donut holes made with Canadian magic!

There are quite a few Tim Hortons in the U.S. now, though - MI/OH/PA/NY/ME mostly, I think.
But those ones don't have the Canadian magic! Unless they stole some of it, darned 'muricans.
