Thank you for this giveaway . I'm in for Wargame: European Escalation .

F.E.A.R. was one of my first games that i bought as a retail version . It was also my first game that i played in multiplayer .
Thanky you Doc0075 for this giveaway!

My favourite classic game on PC is the Settlers II Gold Edition. It was my first PC game I bought and no game I bought after this game was able to beat it. At first it was really hard to get in but it is so much fun to play it (if you found your strategy). I like this game so much that I have to play it at least once a year.
Best part of the game for me is the world campaign. It is more interesting because the enemy is more aggressive than in the Roman campaign.
My favourite SNES game is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The Zelda games are really great and I like that this game isn't that easy as new games today could be.

I'm in for Tropico 3 Gold Edition. Good luck all!
Thank you, Doc. I'd like to be in for either of the LEGO games, with Harry Potter as my first choice.

My favorite classic game (admittedly, as viewed through thirty-plus years of rose-colored glasses) is SSI's The Cosmic Balance. It was my first space combat sim, way back on the Apple ][+, and one that gave me the freedom to design my own starships and test their worth in combat. In fact, I didn't find another game with as much flexibility of starship design until I came across Stars! over a decade later.

I have chosen the first winner as zeogold. He will get to select the next winner.
Hello, and thanks for the opportunity. So many nice games! I am in.

I'll nominate Street Fighter II as a classic game that is kind of special to me.

Many years ago, I was spending summer vacations with a friend, and in this small village "café" (imagine kind of a small and quaint coffee shop mixed with a cheap pub) they had a pool table and an arcade machine. It was Street Fighter II (on a four buttons machine, but those cabinets were all like that).

Me and my friend spent a LOT of coins in that machine (it was like a quarter of a dollar). I never went very far, but the local kids were used to play it, so, if I lost a fight I would ask one of them to try to make me pass the stage so that I could continue to play. Badly.

By the end of the vacations I noticed I was spending too much money in that machine. The kids would rush in if they even saw me or my friend walking into that establishment, hoping to play for free. :-)

The following summer my friend asked me if I wanted to join him again in that village by the sea. We noticed, with a bit of sadness, that that place had replaced the Street Fighter II cabinet with Pong and a mechanical pinball machine. But that was OK because my friend now had Super Street Fighter II on his Sega Mega Drive (Genesis in the US), and we played the heck out of it! We even invited some of the local kids to come play with us!

That was the only time I put my money into an arcade machine. Today they seem to be a rare sight, which makes me sad. Still, I treasure the memories of that glorious summer.

snowkatt: what do you think of majora's mask ?
avatar
MaxFulvus: Majora's Mask is very pleasant to play, but it's a different game compared to Ocarina of Time. The time system is the main problem and you have to be careful to avoid the fall of the Moon in 3 days. There is less dungeons but a lot of more side quests with the NPC. Hopefully, there is the Bombers's journal (a quests journal) to help you.
The masks riddles is also very interesting.
The atmosphere remains very dark and sad compared to Ocarina of Time. Both games are different, maybe too much !
For me, Majora's Mask is great, but it's a kind of stressful thriller, whereas Ocarina of Time is a quiet adventure.
i rather like majora's because it dares to be different
it dares to throw away the whole hyrule storyline and do something unique and mature and borderline depressing
but in the end hopefull because despite being locked in a 3 day cycle which you have to reset making everything you did for naught you do make a smal difference in the lives of these npc's each go around and slowly you get closer and closer to the eventual goal of liberating everybody

for once in a zelda game the npc's arent faceless nobodies but fleshed out albeit weird personalities you can get invested in

as far as i am concerned majora's mask is one of the greatest zelda games ever

snowkatt:
I have a preference for Ocarina of Time, because it was my first Zelda, but it's true that Majora's Mask is unique in its genre. That's probably why it was so underrated by the players.
Not in, but +1 for the GA

I hope this works in the manner that you wish.
Not in but many thanks for another trust giveaway doc! +1

Although you pose a somewhat difficult question because there are many classic games I love and everytime the answer could be different, my favourite of all the classic games, is Grand Prix Legends.

Not only it was revolutionary in its age (1998), but it continues to thrill me up to this day. Excellent graphics that haven't aged thanks to the great mods (without stupid special effects like blur, shine etc.), raw sound, ultra hardcore difficulty (took me two weeks to build up confidence that I'm controlling the damn thing and when I was happy about it, I went a little faster and crashed... #confidence: near to zero again!). And if you think that 12 tracks including Nurburgring (the first racing sim to include it) aren't enough, 500+ addon tracks were created all these years, waiting for you.

I'd like to opt in for option 9, then 10, and lastly 8, if you deem me to be worthy.

LEGO Batman: The Videogame is one of those really great games to play, especially with a partner. It was one of the best that I played on the PS2, the setting, the gameplay itself, everything. No wonder why I'm picking it up.

Thank you for the giveaway.
I'd like to be in for Bastion.

And a favourite classic game has got to be Super Smash Brothers!

Edit: Forgot to mention why. But does it need to be said? One of the most amazing games ever.

Captain Falcon FTW!

Thanks very much for the opportunity Doc0075! I think these have worked out well and should here too! I did a trust GA not long ago and everyone behaved who received the key. It's very heart-warming to have that sense of trust among a community. Thanks for perpetuating it so much!!!

I'd like to be in for F.E.A.R: Platinum!!! I'd gladly accept Two Worlds 2 too (tutu!), but FEAR is preferred.

One of my favorite classics is Interstate '76. There are no other games like it. The adrenaline-pumping fast-driving simulated car-physics while blasting the baddies with mounted weapons is unmatched. You get a real sense of speed and badassery driving around in your car. The story is great, with great characters, individual missions, and a real sense of vigilante justice for the good of the people! The landscapes, while dominantly brown+sandy, are actually quite beautiful and varies enough from mission to mission that it doesn't get old. OHHHH, and the music is the best ever in a video game, I listen to the songs on random with the rest of my music with regularity still to this day. It's always in my top handful of games of ALL TIME.

I don't think it gets enough praise and attention. I think the GOG version should get some love.

A classic that is special to me would be Loom. Mostly because of good memories, but also because of a nice theme, the genre and the classic but still original story. Glad it found its way to GOG eventually.

Not in, but +1 for another giveaway Doc!
I love these :)

My favorite classic game is BG2. What made it so special for me was not only the story, but how your party members really had personalities and souls. Their dialogue and quests added a lot to the game for me. Even though it was single player, I didn't feel alone.

Not in :)
