Cycling regularly worked well for me, when I rode five days a week to work (about 5 miles distance) and back I lost quite some weight and - what's even more important - felt much healthier after some time.
It's also important to reduce temptation, don't keep snacks around you, you only need a few seconds of weakness to devour them. You don't need to eat in stress situations, I made the experience that eating makes you feel better for a few minutes but reduces your performance for many hours.
