blotunga: Trading System Extension is in stock in all Argon Equipment Docks if I remember right.
Anyway the most useful extension is the Docking Computer (you can buy it from the Paranid) and Jump Drives. A transporter is also handy, can be bought where you can buy Jump Drives.
Although I did not find these Software Upgrades in Local Equipment Dealers, You are Partially Right, in that I Found them at an Equipment Dealer In The North Center of The Galaxy Map.
OOPS!! Have to Scroll Down Some... (Blushes)

Can a Forum Moderator either Move This Thread to The X3 Section? or Close It, and If I want To Post A New Comment, I will Do It In That Section, which I Found Yesterday...

Thanks.
Thanks To The Moderators For Moving This...

This Is For X3-TC, Not Total War, But I do not see a Forum for X#-TC...

There are several Guides out for this, and After spending some time in the game, I am Finding some Mis-Information in the Mao That Goes with the Guides.

https://roguey.co.uk/x3tc/universe/

Anyway, In This Map, It shows a WEST Jump Gate in "Empire's Edge" that should go to "Savage Spur", and south from there to another 3 Systems...

I Flew Down The West Side of Empire's Edge, and do not find said Gate.
Perhaps There have been Changes to The Universe Since the Guide Was Released??

No, the information is correct. That gate is fairly well hidden behind a large asteroid. Also, let me add that you need to look with your own eyes as some gates are outside the map even if you zoom out the map max.

Yes, I did find that Gate, and From The Standard Map View, It Is WAY Off The Map...
I Had to Zoom Out on the Map, and then Zoom In On my Ship, and Keep Going West...

Who Ever Put That Collection of Maps and Guides Together Deserves A Big Round of Aplause!!
For my Next Question:

What Is The Procedure For Dealing With Deralict Ships??

I Found a Deralict Ship In "Savage Spur", The "Enhanced Pericles".
I Approached it, and Clicked on it, The Word "CLAIM Is Greyed Out, and can Not Be Clicked.
I attempted to se if I could Find out what was on it, and Found I Did not Have a Freight Scanner on my ship.

I went Back Up Through 6 Equipment Docks Before I Finally Found one, Mounted it, and Returned to The Pericles.
I Scanned It, and saw a Good deal of items on it, But I Still Could Not Claim It.

I did look through the Guides again, But They do not have this Topic that I can see.

I would guess that I have to Shoot it, and pick up the items that are not Destroyed, But I would Rathed Take the ship in on Autopilot if I can.

Ok, this is an X3:R answer again, might have changed for TC, but we had to eject from our ship, jetpack to within about 30m (varied upon ship size) and then claim became active.

Ah Ha!! Thank You for That.

Spectre: Can you rebind the controls in terran conflict? I think you needed to use outside programs in the other X3.
avatar
WinterSnowfall: You can remap almost everything from the in-game menu when it comes to mouse + keyboard. I have no idea if it also applies to joysticks or other controllers, but the options are there from what I remember.
I tried the other X3 and found it where you had to be ingame in order to be able to bind anything but when you paused it froze everything so you had to to do it while the game was active. It also has problems recognizing the joysticks on a pad properly. It's the type of game that is suitable for the game controllers with mini keyboards.

You do not Actually Need to Enter The Ship. Simply Eject Into Space, Then Click on The Deralict, and Select "Claim" From the Options there, Then Re-Enter Your Ship.

That Pericles Was a Nice Haul... $500 K For the ship and Equipment!!

Thanks Again for that information.
Another Issue...

I am Flying a MAKO Sentinel, which I think is a Medium Class Ship??

I want to Mount a 25 MJ Shield, which is also Medium, but it won't Mount...

Any Reason Why?

I am only able to Mount a 5 MJ.

ok, this is really TC stuff, but in R every ship had a details section that showed the weapons and shields it could carry. It was a funny mesh of lines, but ultimately, a ship cannot necessarily equip a 25MJ shield, especially if it's split (who consider shields cowardly). But also other races, no M3 can carry a 25MJ shield. Some of the M3+ ships can.

EDIT: Here's your base MAKO specs: https://roguey.co.uk/x3tc/ships/ship-123/

EDIT: It's an M4 - but still not able to.

The cargo class of a ship and the type of shields it can mount are not in direct correlation. You can for example carry a 25MJ shield (an M class good) in a Discoverer Hauler (M5, M cargo class), but not equip it. More details here.

You're a bit rusty I guess :). M3 ships (heavy fighters) usually provide the capability to equip a number of 25MJ shields. A very limited number of M3 variants/M3+ can mount a single 200MJ shield.

To be honest, after playing it for several years, I can't think of any other way to properly play it except with a keyboard and mouse. Sure, the simulation part of it plays better on a controller, but you'll be managing your empire a lot more in the mid-to-end game than focusing solely on flying around.

Indeed I am - I knew there was a limit, and in X3:R it was those 125MJ shields, but I was forgetful. Or as you say, rusty.

Thanks For the specs... 2 5MJ's... Guess I am going to have to Up-Grade a Bit.
