IF you have discovered a shop selling something it can be found in the built in wikipedia database.

Advanced manœuvers work fine with keyboard + mouse or joystick + keyboard.

blotunga: I play the old X games almost exclusively with only the keyboard. I spent some time learning the shortcuts and flying with the mouse never felt natural for some reason.

FL Used The Mouse or Keyboard, or JS. Mouse Flight Was Always Fluid, and Straight Forward.
Mouse flight in freelancer was bearable. In X3 it's a pain. Keyboard all the way.

I loved it BUT the game was conducive to it. Combat and flight were simple enough. I doubt it would work for virtually anything else.

RDouglass1: The Manual has entry about Hitting The Number "6" Key to Bring Up Comodity List, and mine tells me That Is Not Installed. Where does that Component Come From??

wpegg: I found the constant patrolling to dig out co-ordinates to be no fun, so I always refer to one of the maps such as https://roguey.co.uk/x3tc/universe/

it gives x,y,z locations of all the known stations and gates, which makes it way easier to locate stuff on your map.

RDouglass1: The Three D Flying is still a Real Pain...
Have to Practise more to get all 3 numbers going the Right Way...
Oh, on the 3D navigating, you know you can change the axis for you map so that you can see your position both x,y and x,z? Can't remember the key, but it will be there in the config.

I didn't liked the fact that you had to hold down the mouse button to fly with it. Or at least I think I remember it was like that. But you get used to it eventually. I actually played X2 before playing Freelancer so it felt a bit awkward at first.

I saw on the Map you can Change Orientation. Will look in Config...

Is there any way to put a "Way Point" on the Map as a Target to "Go To"??

Also, It would be Nice to be able to Change Direction for the Ship While The Map Is OPEN... Another Pain.

I Only Played FL a couple of times with Key Board, and Could not Target, or Hit Anything that way.

You can select any object on the map, not sure if you can set a "waypoint", but in X3:R you could double click on a location on the map to move to it, effectively allowing a one stop waypoint.

In X3:R I could definitely still steer while the map is up, maybe different in TC. It was essential for base positioning. Do controls really not work while the map is up? It may be that you've bound keys to things that are both map functions and steering functions.

I did not Change any Default Bind Keys. I am Trying to Change Direction with the Mouse, which does nothing.
Also, If I Open The Map with The Period, instead of the MAP Icon, ALL Action Stops Dead... After I close the map then I have to hit all of the Flight Commands again.
Maybe the game has some Bugs??

Ok, mouse will not change direction because it's now in interface mode, and therefore not affecting steering (I think it would be more offputting if it did do that). Keyboard arrow keys should still affect direction.

I have played over 100h in each of the three X3 games (Reunion, Terran Conflict, Albion Prelude) and tried with different control systems and have no memory of something like that. If there is such a thing, I must have changed away from it and forgot about it immediately. Disclaimer: I do not have one of those console controllers, only joystick, which I actually never use in the X games.

Besides choosing an object on the mini-map, you can also click anywhere on it to set a waypoint AND in one of the X3 games they added the possibility to insert co-ordinates and order a ship to go there.

Depending on which game, you click either the mouse or space bar to change between flight mode and mouse interacting mode.

Great Info...
Now a New Head Ache. I Have My Scout Ship in one Sector, and I want to get it into the Next Sector, "With Me" and My Trade Ship...
I Figured out how to get from one ship to the other In Space, but, How do I get BOTH Ships to Dock, or To Go Through a Jump gate Together??

I set the Scout To Follow Me, I set it as "Wingman", and I set it To Defend Me, but I can't get it to dock either case when I do.

Thanks, Next Time I am Looking for an Item, I will try this...

The scout will also land at a station after you have landed with the "Follow me"-command. It just takes some time. It will also follow you to a new sector.
You could also directly command it to land on a station. Target your scout; click on the sidebar the third or fourth button from the top - the one that gives information for a target; in the following menu choose commands -> navigation -> dock at; select destination.

Thanks, I Figured that out this last time in game. Got it into Argon Sector and left it there for now.

I Have gone back to the Light System Four or Five Times now Trying to Get the "Trading System Extension" and a couple of the other information Modules that work with it, but They Never Seem to have these in Stock at Their Headquarters...
That is the only place I have seen them listed so far... Is there any way to get them Produced??

WPegg; The Key Board Arrows do not change my Direction if The Map Is Open... They Simply Move The Map Items around to Objects on it. I Tried that a couple of times, and same result.

Trading System Extension is in stock in all Argon Equipment Docks if I remember right.
Anyway the most useful extension is the Docking Computer (you can buy it from the Paranid) and Jump Drives. A transporter is also handy, can be bought where you can buy Jump Drives.
