*** The giveway has now ended ***

Up for grabs are 3 games in total (grouped as 2 offers on GOG):

X3: Reunion
X3: Terran Conflict
X3: Albion Prelude

Rules:
1. Post here to say you're in for the giveaway (can't win if you're not in).
2. Sign up because you want to play the games, not because you want to collect and shelf the games.
3. The winner will be chosen randomly in one week from today (next Saturday).
4. You must swear a sacred oath to uphold your end of the bargain, as described below under "Responsibilities".
5. The winner can give the game to someone else (or you can participate for someone else and then pass along the codes), as long as that certain someone agrees to uphold point 4.

Responsibilities (aka "the winner has to"):

1. Play at least one of the games in sandbox or campaign mode.
2. Record and post an X3 diary in this thread for the first 7 days of game-play (actual game time). In total there have to be at least seven posts, each taken at a 1 day interval (1st post after 1 day spent in the game and so on). The diary entries should contain at least one screenshot and a short summary of what the player has been doing in the game so far (it can be captain's log style, or you can turn it into a space-adventure novel if you wish).

Good luck and good profitssssss onto you!

Boron say: Not in.

Queen pleased with you!
Not in, but nice idea and thanks for the giveaway! +1
Holy shit, this sounds like a killer set-up. I'd actually do it. You have my oath to solemnly uphold the bargain and all relevant protocols of the space pirate code.
Not in.

Been a long time since I was asked to take a solemn path, though.

+1
I am in.

Oh the Terran War Pack is on my wishlist so interested in that. Reunion with bonus pack is already on my computer. Are you splitting the War Pack up? Is that even possible? If so, I am more interested in the Terran Conflict than Albion Prelude.

I swear to blog for a week about my game progress in TC if humanely possible (not hospitalised or so) (gulp!)

Is the Pirate alley still in TC? Do the Xenons still kill all and everything on sight?
I just love the responsibilities part. Great idea. Sort of demanding too.

Not in. But many thanks just for making the giveaway. Nice!

So arrrr' you in then, or do you just agree to being a hull-cutting follower of the pirate duke?

No, I can't really split them up, but they're really two very different games, even if Albion Prelude is usually considered a Terran Conflict add-on.

If you want to go for the campaign mode, yeah, I agree with you, TC is the best. But for the ultimate sandbox experience in the X3 universe, AP is second to none. In any case, the winner will get everything, you can't pick out anything in particular :P.

Yes, you can start up as a pirate in TC if you want to. And yes, Xenons are still killing everyone they run into, as usual.

If you're into the games it's really not that demanding. Sort of adds to the fun in fact :).

In Reunion, at least, the "Pirate Alley" are a group of eight lawless sectors with seven of them in a row. It is just a nick name I read on Egosoft's forums.

Talking about Reunion, the bonus pack is kind of a must; a group of small mods to fix things that commonly annoy(ed) the players nicely integrated into the game proper.

Ah, ok. Yeah, those pirate sectors are there in all X3 games, plus in AP you also get some... pirate surprises in other sectors :).

There are bonus packs for TC and AP as well, though in AP they've integrated quite a lot of community scripts which make your life a lot easier in the base game.

The turret AI script comes to mind - it's been revamped in AP and makes a lot more sense than the one they implemented in TC (I remember putting all my turrets on "Missile Defense" and then watching as they fired incredibly slow shots at nearby fighters... it was pure nonsense).

You need to get them from Egosoft's site though, as they're not pre-installed with the GoG version of the games. They do work without any issues on top of GoG's installer, I've tested both TC and AP.

I said I'd uphold ye bargain, didn't I? There's a good reason why they call me the straightest shooter in the galaxy - a pirate without their word is nothing more than a common thief.

Might also be the fact that I can blow the loading doors off a freighter from 6000 metres, but that's part of the job really.

(in case that wasn't clear enough, I'm in, yeah :^)

No one else? You make no sensssse, you lose profitssssssssss...
Not in but many thanks for the great giveaway! +1
As a huge X3 fan, kudos for this and +1. Not in obviously but I pitty the winner, he won't play anything else for weeks if he's hooked like I used to be.
Count me in, the X games have a good reputation, and while I have not tried a game diary before it could be interesting.
