After NAM was released here a while back, I had high hopes that WWII GI would soon follow, they are a pigeon pair after all, but it's still missing. Of the two, I found WWII GI was the better game.

Steam currently have WWII GI on sale, so clearly it is available, not that I am gonna buy it with DRM or DRM-Light.

Of course, I'm not just after WWII GI, I'd like to get the Hexen and Heretic games as well, and all except Heretic 2 are available at Steam.

P.S. Luckily I have them all on disc, but still .......

Not too interested in WWII GI, but i'm also waiting for Hexen & Heretic.
Could use more votes as well:
World War II GI
I thought this was going to be about WWII MIAs
it is odd that the game isn't here yet, it has a pretty decent number of votes compared to other releases by Ziggurat. Everyone wants Heretic and Hexen here so presumably there are legal issues or GOG would have them here by now

Mmmm I thought I had already voted for it, but apparently not, and I can't find a wishlist page for ww ii gi, so that rules out the alternate.

Quite a while back I went and voted for all the great games I could recall (including CHASM: The Rift etc), so funny odd I missed doing one for WWII GI.
Agreed, I'm still waiting to buy it here. WWII GI is kind of a sequel to NAM, there is no reason to not sell it.
GOG needs WWII GI, a shame it is mysteriously not here yet.
Yep, very odd.

Steam have NAM going for the same sale price.

So why wasn't the game brought to GOG at the same time as NAM. I always found it odd that it wasn't, when you get others turning up here in related groups or series.

Is GOG to blame or the DEV/PUB?

Maybe they wanted to focus first on the other games that came here with NAM. From memory they were lesser, so might be due to milking. Hopefully things will be rectified sooner rather than later. But it could hang on sales of those others, so it could be bad.

I know that WWII GI had some bugs, but none were game breaking enough if you were diligent with saving and backing up saves. But maybe those are being addressed first ... GOG seems to have a higher standard than Steam.

NAM was released with another bunch of Vietnam War related games (+ the outlier Fields of Glory about the Battle of Waterloo):

Might get a release here alongside other older classics towards the end of December, like last year (Hexplore, Arabian Nights, Submarine Titans, Blade Runner, etc).
If GoG sticks with the kind of hodge-podge "here's everything we couldn't cram into themed bundles or couldn't release on their own for one reason or another earlier this year" format.

Yes they were kind of related in a broad sense, as I sort of indicated, but nowhere near as related as WWII GI.

One can but hope.

We might even get WWII GI, Hexen 1 & 2 + Mission Pack, Heretic 1 & 2 + Mission Pack?, and maybe even CHASM: The Rift.

Hey, I'm allowed to dream ... ha ha ha ha.

From Heretic's Wikpedia page:

Following ZeniMax Media's acquisition of id Software, the rights to the series have been disputed between both id and Raven Software; Raven's parent company Activision holds the developing rights, while id holds the publishing rights to the first three games. Until both companies come to an agreement, neither will be able to make another installment in the series.

That probably has something to do with it. Or the fact that the games aren't available in some territories on Steam.

May likely be so, but if it can be available on Steam, I cannot see why not here at GOG too. So it seem more likely ID don't like GOG maybe.

Ironic when you think GOG were key to the resurgence of interest in old games, making them financially viable. Steam certainly took advantage of that, as did many devs/pubs. Hopefully they don't sleep well at night until they do do the right thing and release at GOG.

Heretic and Hexen seem to be....special cases. For example, I can't find any site selling legit Steam keys for those games. Only fishy offers where what you buy is actually a Steam account with those games added. Or as Steam gifts. >_>

I got those games as physical copies now, but I'd love having them here. Including Heretic 2 and the Hexen 2 addon, which is apparently super rare and outrageously expensive. :(
