So, anyone here planning on returning to WoW next month for classic?

Yes, I plan to go back for a month or 2 and do nothing more than level up a character to 60, just for old times sake and a bit of nostalgia. I actually made an identical thread in fact, just a month ago, asking the same question (not in the thread title though).

BTW it has been confirmed that there will be Oceanic servers as well, though I can't remember where I read that.

Tried it and enjoyed it for a good while and then for some reason the excitement died for me. not sure if it's just the fact that I did it all before and than some with modern wow but wished they brought it back up to lich king. IMO when wow finished and died.

crossing fingers for them to go back to that expansion and man would I love it.

What else is there to do in classic except levelling? They'll be no dailies, and replaying the same raids over and over will get old after a while.

Battlegrounds? The original Battleground experience was way different to the last time I played the game (which was 8 years ago admittedly). If they replicate the old Alterac Valley experience I'll give that a few tries at least. That's all it ever was for me, levelling and battlegrounds- never could care about raiding, I'm just not enough of a team player.

Ahhh yeah forgot PvP stuff, it's not for everyone.
In original WOW you could stop leveling at the likes of level 19 or 29 and use those characters exclusively for their respective Battleground.
Made for some great pvp although it wasn't so much fun for people who just dipped in as they leveled up, facing geared-up twinks.
I fail to see the demographic for this game. It's marketed towards an age group that doesn't have the time required that they had back when it was first released. And the younger 'instant gratification generation' wont play it simply because it doesn't reward them each and every second.

It's nice that Blizzard gave it a chance and listened to the fans though, I really hope it pays off even if I'm doubtful.
I think my original account got hacked and used for gold farming a few years ago. Told Blizzard to delete the account since I had no interest in coming back and didn't want to spend the time to get my characters back to where they were.
Having never played WOW before, i thought about finally seeing what all the fuss is about. The main off-putting factor for me was that I would be jumping into the middle of something, not being able to experience it from the beginning.

And classic brings it back to the beginning, so this would be the opportunity. I would just be interested in leveling a character to 60/doing all the quests once. Just to experience the story and see what they killed the possibility of Warcraft 4 for.

Nothing else. Pointless grinding is not appealing to me.

You should try out Path of Exile from Grinding Gear Games then.

(Please don't -- for your own sanity)

Never tried WoW back when everybody played it. I've never been a big fan of multiplayer games, prefer to play on my own in single player games with a strong story instead. Doubt I'll jump into WoW now either, although some of my friends will.
I'm quite happy to see Blizzard offering vanilla servers. My experience with private projects has been mixed. The classic beta showed how off all of these were and are. I'll re-sub when it's available.

Strangely enough, I probably have MORE free-time now that I did 15 years ago. Not having a social life helps.

That depends if it's the make it the proper Alterac Valley with all the NPCs and side quests. The only problem with the old versions of Alterac valley was the horde had an easier time.
