Oh Trust me, the icecream cone is funny but my favorite one is sandusky saga. I managed to survive the sandusky saga over at the spidweb forums. I dont know how I was able to not get banned for that. I should have been.

X-com: Here are some other traits from Poland:

*snip*
-People use their emergency lights to thank someone on the road for letting them in, tried this in Denmark and the guy behind me lifted his arms in a "WTF are you doing breaking down in front of me" manner
This is a standard international truckman "thank you", used also by car drivers. Worldwide.

The guy is a moron.

Yeshu: Obsessive martyrdom complex.

If you read Polish history you would know that we had it rough. From backstabbing allies to having the entire country erased from the map for a 100+ years.

However, instead of learning from this and growing as a country we blissfully bathe in our tragic past like a emo high school girl that constantly complains how her life is shit.

So Instead of pulling ourselves together we complain how bad we had it in history as if to gather other peoples sympathy.

To give an example, a few years ago there was a plain accident in which the former president of Poland died with some other important political figure heads while flying to Katyń, a famous historical landmark where the Soviets executed allot of Polish soldiers, politicians etc. It was a big blow. But instead of sorting the thing out the media keeps milking the event to this day. It even went so far as renaming it from the the Smoleńsk Tragedy (the town where the plain fell) to the Smoleńsk Massacre as there are allot of conspiracy theorists claiming that it was a secret Russian attack.

LOOK AT HOW BAD WE HAVE IT!!! PITY US!!!!
Poland, historically, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth has massacred pretty huge amount of nations around it. In typical medival conquest wars.

Also, Soviets != Soviet government and especially !=Soviet Secret Service, especially in 193x and 195x (Beria, Yezhov and co), which can be best characterized as strategic "mayhem".
You simply can't connect them to world view of common people (Soviet citizens) or even regular Soviet army (which, like any army, executes what its commanded to).
The soviet special service did no genocide on basis of nationality, but plenty of genocide on basis of political views. Pretty much anyone opposing them would be executed or punished. Government brutality, which every country on this planet had at least once, in its history. If you think its not "democratic", not "western", take a look at US confederates or slave trade/colonies of Great Britain. You can't mix all people in one basket.
None. We're awesome.

If i had to say it would be either the awful tv shows that we have or that we don't really stand up when we need to.
One more trait: The fact that voters can be swayed by scare campaigns that have no basis in actual truth into voting against their own self-interest. (I am again referring to HERO's repeal here, but this isn't the only time that sort of thing has happened.)
Fascination with bacon
ignorant of other countries/cultures
lack of political thought
easily blinded by shiny things
obsessed with celebrities
environmental unconsciousness

Territorial Wars in the middle ages =/= 20th century mass genocide of high ranking military personnel outside of the battlefield as well as allot of civilians, including priests, university professors etc. (Basically the brains of the nation.)

You should know that in Poland if someone refers to the "Soviets" they mean the government/special service that did all the dirty work of the USSR. The common folk are just Russians, so I was not lumping everyone in one bag.

Every country has dark parts in there history, but instead of trying to justify it wouldn't it be better to learn from it and not repeat the same mistakes and not just try and shove it under a rug? Heck the whole Katyń thing was finally acknowledged by the Russian government 2010.
commercialism. everything gets used to sell something: holidays, births, deaths, disasters, etc, etc, etc. nothing is off limits here.

War hawks. we are a very war-like people. I can't remember a time when we were putting bullets into someone. that's sad.

Entitled. We think we deserve everything bc America.

We're a land of immigrants, built buy immigrants for immigrants, but we hate immigrants. the mind boggles.

Everything is in black and white, people rarely see the grey areas.
