Worlds of Magic is a genuine spiritual successor to the classic fantasy 4X games, with a D20 inspired tactical combat system!
I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up.
Interesting news, though I'm a bit afraid that Wastelands Interactive might be biting off more than they can chew with this one ... the budget seems awfully small for all the features that they have planned.
The budget we are asking for is mostly for the assets. The game is already in development for quite some time and we have decided that Kickstarter will help us finishing the project earlier.

Ah, that's good to know - thanks!

I already bookmarked the kickstarter project and will take a more thorough look at it when I have more time. It definitely does sound interesting. :)

The game looks good :D But the important question is - Are we gonna get it here on GOG ?
That's one of our goals

Excellent.
There doesn't seem to be a campaign planned. That is too bad for me, since for whatever reason I usually cannot bring myself to be interested in random-generated maps. For me, without a campaign, every game *is* basically the same. I understand, though, that creating campaigns is a lot of work. I also feel like I'm in the minority.

Other than that it sounds good. Hopefully the factions have some unique twists to them that really sets them apart from each other. For example, dwarves being able to build a construct and elves being able to summon an ent are basically the same thing after a while.

Looking forward to it in any case.
I have to wonder how the IA is handled, the master of games were pretty poor there with difficulty increases just giving them free stuff
Are they gonna do a better job than Elemental though
I'm intrigued, but I am well and truly Kickstarter'd out.

Really bad timing on their part, immediately after a couple of big projects.
