I don't know enough to have my own opinion on the climate, nor do I have the background necessary to understand all the data even if I gave it a fair shot. I guess most people don't really know, they just spew up what is repeated in their respective ideological bubble. Funny thing is, in reality, both sides accuse the opposing side of being idiots for doing just that, listening to their own ideological authorities while acting like some enlightened parrot.

I should probably pick a side soon, I don't wanna take the risk of looking dumb by admitting that I don't really have a clue.

Another observation I've made is that the climate issue is entirely left vs right, there's no room for anyone going rogue in this issue. All bow down for your ideological overlords and bend over for conformity!

Very bad day down here again, the bush fires are still uncontrollable. The damage is immense, including more deaths and it's just hit 45 degrees.

Hope you're safe!

Here in California we've been watching the reports and our hearts go out to you.

Crosmando: Most of the people who deny climate change are boomers, they know climate change is real but they are old and will die before the effects of climate change start affecting their daily lives, but anti-climate laws like carbon taxes will probably incease the price of fuel and other goods, it's selfishness in it's most basic pure form. Boomers are the masters of creating problems and leaving them for us, the new generation, to fix.
As I said to another person above, climate change IS REAL....but it's mostly natural(the earth goes through periods of heating and cooling naturally over time). Humanity is likely increasing it's speed(of it's cycling) but it likely would've changed without us anyways.

Now POLLUTION of the air/water and ACIDIFICATION of the OCEANS....that stuff is much more worthy of being worried about, I think.

=====================================
I like that joke, the new generation to fix.
This...it would imply we can even make a dent in the processes of the earth to such a degree and in such a rapid manner, or that anyone would stop bickering long enough to want to try to change things.

You Aussies have my sympathies....I am thankful the area I am in doesn't have many natural disasters and couldn't begin to fathom living in/though such.

If I may ask, besides the people(which I worry about the most)....have any major landmarks been threatened by the fires?
(Natural and man made)

Yes thanks, safe but thousands aren't. Cooler, today and a very little bit of rain but not enough to help with the drought or most of the fires that make the Amazon fires look like a camp fire. Horrific scenes down here and the poor wildlife and farmers cattle/sheep are slaughtered by the fires or after the fire has passed by and they then have to be put down. This is like a sad end of the world and something I didn't want to see....but we will overcome and carry on as Aussie's always help each other and recover.

Hope you guys aren't too horribly affected by the fires in AUS. Don't know where you are in relation to it, but I hope you and yours are well, at least. Nasty stuff, that. Good luck.

Close enough to get the orange sky, smoke out and burnt gum leafs in the backyard.
Here there's finally some rain falling. Hopefully it helps some... although doesn't sound like a lot.
A very nice Easter we have had: Snow or hail every day. True April weather being spring one moment and winter ten minutes later.

That's an interesting topic
Interesting spam bot necro!

We have a heat wave since tuesday, with 38°C every day. Wind was blowing from Africa and carrying a lot of dust from the desert (so no direct sunlight, because the sky was a pretty grey-yellowish mess). Yesterday the dust stopped coming, so... today the sky is clear again and the sun adds another 2°C. This means we're having 40°C (104°F) right now. It'll stay like that for the whole weekend. It should become a bit better on monday and tuesday we could have something around 30°C again.
