In case any of you were thinking of getting it for that, or were lamenting not being able to get it, let me tell you: Wolfenstein Youngblood is horrible in singleplayer. Even more horrible than other co-op games like Resident Evil 5 or Dead Space 3. You can't save during missions period, the enemies are all bullet spongey and leveled like an MMO, your sister constantly talks about things that make no sense, the enemies respawn literally as soon as you leave the room, the "quests" are all pointless busy work with no real story after the intro levels.

Personally I think it's a bad game period, I had a LOT more fun with games like Left 4 Dead solo, but maybe if you're into Destiny and stuff like that it could be good. If you want a new singleplayer Wolfenstein though, stay FAAAAAAAR away.

Luckily I got it free with my new GPU, I would have bought it otherwise.
That sums my experience with the franchise after RtCW, i hate all wolf games after that one, shame that it hasn't gone better since then.

Terrible that you had the spend money on it, i assume the period for refund has run out.

Strange, I enjoyed The New Order far more than I did RtCW. Have yet to play The Old Blood, but I expect to enjoy that one as well.

Already heard bad things about The New Colossus, and I guess I'll be taking Youngblood off the wishlist as well.

Such a waste. The first game and the expansion was great fun too.

Personally, I could never get into Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I suspect it's one of those games everyone loves because of nostalgia. The New Order and The Old Blood are considerably more enjoyable.

Me too: The New Order was very good apart from some cheesy cutscenes. The Old Blood is also nice, especially the very first chapter with castle area, however the game is very short and last boss is even worse than in The New Order.

For me The New Colossus game felt false, unnatural and too much gimmicky (it's like politically correct clowns appealing to LGBT while running the presidential campaign).
And I disliked what they did with the protagonist. I suggest you to finish DLC missions (available in game) early on, they are the worst, still it's the only way to know what are you going to get later on.
Youngblood is garbage period.

For me it was quite simple, Machine Games reboot tried to focus heavily on story but the story throughout both reboots are downright atrocious with too much added for shock value and cringe moments, nazis are portrayed as cartoon villains and without any sort of layers to their personality, for me they could have been robots instead of humans which i dislike because what makes nazis so terrifying in lack of better word is that they are humans capable of doing the horrible things they did.

The other parts of the game wasn't much better imo as it's poorly paced, involves too much stealth for an FPS where you want to blow stuff up, level design are poor especially in second game where it's way too linear.

If you can't make fun enemies to fight then give the player more options in how to fight them because honestly the london monitor fights is one of the most boring fights i've done in an fps. hide, shoot and rinse and repeat and then rush it as the last part of the fight. Many of the larger fights feel like this and there's no variation to make them interesting.

Series is at its best when it focuses on shooting and solid level design. This new 'cut scene every 5 mins' and hp bars gimmick is just stupid and fully forced

I take it you didn't listen to the recordings from the diary passages of the girl who spent her youth killing random nazis, like the one who dove into the river to save her life when she pretended to be drowning.

I think Wolfenstein 2009, New Order and Old Blood are all pretty awesome dude. New Colossus is a bit of a step down due to boring level design, but still good. This one sucks for the reasons I listed, which are unique to it being an online only co-op game. Completely different thing.

P.S. I just fought all the way to the top of the first big tower, took me over an hour, then died to the boss, and the game sent me all the way back to the beginning. Pretty sure I'm never loading it again.
The series, in general, under MachineGames has been horrible. The only one worth a damn was Old Blood. Wrong dev for the wrong franchise. Wish it was still under id Software... or some other dev that understood and appreciated the franchise.

Is it true that you cannot pause the game?

Both New Order and Old Blood were good games, and good introduction of Wolfenstein into modern gaming.
Good revival of the IP.

Then nosedive happened - New Collossus (mostly good with some bad parts) and Youngblood (not so much good in it).

New order was alright
The Old Blood has 32X anisotropic filtering and 16X antialiasing bit much don't you think!
