First, let me explain a bit. I COULD have posted this in the game's own subforum, but I dared not to even venture there. Why? Because spoilers. There's bound to be some in the thread titles and I'm not going to risk it. Same goes for a basic google search. Hit search, spoilers imminent.

So I'll just ask here. Simple question with a (hopefully) simple answer.

At what point one should play the DLC's? I am currently still in Novigrad, so I'm not that far. Should I play the DLC's before the end of the game or after it? Story-wise, what makes the most sense?

You can play them right off the start, if you so much wish. They are standalone and they allow you to get started in them, immediately. But best course is to complete the main game once, then hearts of stone, then blood and wine. This is the natural order and the right level (character's) adaptation to the setting and its challenges...

I know because i kept postponing playing through it, all time up to now, because i wanted first all DLC to be released. Ideally, if you can afford all this time burnt, you can finish your new game + on main game, then go expansions!

That is one nasty spoiler. So after the main game? That makes most sense story-wise?

But there is no specific point in the story where they fit? Like one in Deus Ex: HR?

Not as far as I know. Another reason to start them after you finish the main game would be the high level requirement. Also, I know what you mean with Deus Ex and the Missing Link DLC.
