Hi folks, Merry Christmas to you all!

I own Witcher 3 on GOG Galaxy (boxed retail version). However, one of my Steam friends just gifted me the Season Pass. I know I can't activate the CD key again on Steam (even if I hadn't already used it at launch on GOG), but is it possible to combine the two somehow? Even if it's just a case of downloading via Steam and then putting it in the correct place in the folder structure. Would that work? Would GOG even recognise it, or would it automatically think it's an attempt at piracy (even though it's DRM-free)?

I've contacted support, but it's the holidays, so I'm not expecting a quick response. Any help would be appreciated!

As for your question, you can't. Since you would need the base game on Steam before you can activate the Season Pass there, there is no way for you to get access to the files.

That's really disheartening news though, I was worried about that. :/ I can't even get him to order it on GOG Galaxy as gifting it is disabled. Very frustrating…

That sucks a lot and it's very frustrating indeed. BUT! You do have options of getting a GOG key for the Season Pass from the following sites:

Amazon.co.uk
Humble Store
Uplay

Agreed with this. Have him refund the Steam version and maybe Paypal you the money?

It's a little weird, but at least you would get the gift and be able to use it.

True, he could gift the money etc., but it's a bit of a workaround that seems a bit unfair given it was a surprise gift etc. He's put in for a refund and got me DS2: Scholar of the First Sin instead. I'll pick up the Expansion Pass another time.
