(Very new to pc gaming) Bought Witcher 3 GOTY at EB Games for my pc. My pc doesn't have a disk driver so I redeemed the code on GOG.com and it came up with the game in my library. I went through the list and clicked on all 10 parts, which it then started to download. But now when I click on the first setup file, it asks me to specify the location of part 1. But every file I click is responded by "The file could not be located in the installer's folder". Does anyone know what I need to do to proceed with installing? I've been going at this for too long, it's driving me bonkers.

Did all parts download correctly? With such a large game it could happen that something went wrong.

You could try downloading/verifying with the old downloader: https://www.gog.com/downloader
You can use this link to get the downloader running: gogdownloader://the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_game_of_the_year_edition_game/installer_win_en

Worst case you can use Galaxy and install using that one.

Did you download each of the main files, there will be one exe and several bin files. These all need to be fully downloaded and saved to a single directory, I.e all files in one place. Then double click the exe and installation will proceed.
Thank you blotunga, trying the dowloaders now.
And I'm pretty sure I did nightcraw1er; The first file that's causing issues doesn't say bin, but the other 9 say bin. They're all in my downloaded section. But whenever I specify that they're there, it just tells me they can't be located.

Gonna try the old downloader and reinstall the different parts to that and see if it makes a difference
Could you post a screenshot of the folder with the files?

Also, make sure all files are completely downloaded before trying to run the installer. Windows normally hides filename extensions (the last "." and everything after it), so it may be that they're called <something>.bin.part (indicating they're not done yet) but you only see <something>.bin. Likewise the first file is probably <something>.exe while you only see <something>.

What files sizes do you have? They should be:
Small exe, 8 bin files all exactly the same size, 9th is smaller.
Perhaps post a screenshot of your files - I may not be able to check as my version downloaded is slightly older. Note this is goty version on windows yes, classic installers (it's an option under more).

Sure thing; Just uninstalled and reinstalled everything to make sure I didn't miss anything, so some things are missing. But originally the files were all in the download section of my file explorer/library

Now I've downloaded the old downloader and moved it to a new folder on desktop, and moving everything there

It won't let me post a screenshot of it but the sizes you said are correct

Right lots of things going on here.
Picture one, it clearly shows that some of the files have not downloaded correctly. Some have crdownload - which I presume is the download manager in your browser? Anyways, these should all be 4,194,304kb just like the one bin file that has downloaded fully. Secondly there is no exe in this to start the game, there is a galaxy file, which is gog's client, but nothing to do with the actual game.
In the second picture you have an exe file, but no other files, you are missing the bin files.

So you need to download all 10 parts - FULLY, complete all downloaded. As I said there will be one exe, then 8 bin files, all the same size, then one smaller. It looks like yu have the exe, 1 big bin file, and the last bin file ok, its the rest which are missing. Look at my screenshot below, whilst the number is different in the filename, this shows what you should have, in one folder, for installation of the game.

And just to re-iterate to avoid confusion, your files will have 1.31 in the filenames, and the kb sizes will be slightly different, but the pricinpal is exactly the same 1 exe, 8 * bin files all the same size, last one is smaller. Then run the exe by double clicking on it.

I have a feeling that you used Internet Explorer to download the files, and IE sometimes "forgets" to append the right extension to the downloaded files. Try using a different browser.

Also, from your posted pictures, I see that you have the default setting for Hide extensions for known file types in your Folder Options. You may want to deactivate that, because it's really useful to see the exact extension of a file and not just some icon.

if you don't have an issue with a client, I recommend you use Galaxy. It's designed for people that want or need a more simple or straight forward way of downloading. You can even download the classic installers if that is what you want with one click by going to library and then using the MORE button -> backup and goodies.

You seem to have spent a lot of time already with this...

Wouldn't explain the fact that some of the file sizes are way off what they should be, and why would it associate them with a download manager.

More to the point, why is anyone in their right or wrong mind ruining their existance using internet explorer or edge. Hell, since gates left m$ has ruined all of their products, hotmail is getting another "update" or as a user would call it, "how did you make it worse!".

Obviously something went wrong in there and those look like incomplete downloads due to whatever reasons (unstable connection, user error, outstanding M$ software :P).

Why using IE? The OP says he's new to PC gaming, so he might not be that savvy with computer stuff.

They were incomplete because I was reinstalling them; I think they weren't downloaded properly. But now that I've downloaded them, and they're all in the downloaded section of my library. Whenever I specify that they're there to my exe file, it says it can't be found there. But as for why it's in Internet Explorer, I haven't the slightest clue, because I'm using Chrome; I can't seem to specify or open them in that though.

Haha yep. I'm not that tech savvy. Just converted from Xbox to PC this week.

Thank you, I'll try it out and see how it goes. Would I need to move the installed game files to the Galaxy downloader?

Fhalkor: ...snip
You should widen the Name column so you can clearly see the whole names, as in nightcraw1er.488's screenshot. Some files might still have invalid names, with (1), (2) appended to them, like the DiscordSetup, above in your screenshot.

I don't own the game and I can't verify the exact file sizes, but your first BIN file is a bit smaller than the rest of them (4,193,338 KB instead of 4,194,304 KB), so that might be the culprit.

You could try the downloader mentioned in the second post. That verifies the files integrity.
