The onscreen prompts during this fight are either way too fast to react quickly enough or in some cases don't appear at all. In one instance the prompt appeared after Geralt was hung. Geralt is rooted to the spot and incapable of moving or dodging. How can I overcome this, it is ruining an otherwise good game. I have played Witcher 1 and Witcher 3 but am stuck on this one.

System specs. Intel i 5-8500 cpu
Samsung SSD 970 evo 250gb
Memory 8gb
M/B gigabyte H370
Graphics nvidia geforce 950

You don't move in fist fights in TW 2. Just wait for the prompts and press them, as the fights are full QTE. Don't press any button until you see the prompt.

EDIT: And in case you are doing just that, post your system specs please.

The prompts are just A, W, S & D, and always in the same place.
Put your fingers over the A, W & D keys, you don't even need to worry about the S.
Just hitting those 3 will win every time.
If it flashes at the top, hit W, if it flashes on the left, hit A,

I did what you said and stood still waiting for the prompts, it worked a treat. Thanks for the hint.
