You've got mail!

Browsing catalogs, tracking sales, ain't nobody got time for that.
Well, you finally don't need to - we'll email you when a game on your wishlist goes on sale.

Starting this weekend, when a GOG.com game (or games) on your wishlist gets a discount, you'll receive an automatic email notification with a quick way to jump straight to the product page. Nice and convenient.
If you don't want to receive these notifications, you can always unsubscribe directly through the first email you receive, or by heading to Account > Orders & Settings > and changing your Subscriptions settings.

We're still in the early days of rolling out the feature, so we'll continue iterating and nailing down the details and functionality - but with nearly 13,000 votes for the option on our Community Wishlist, we sure hope it comes in handy!
Also got emails while my account showed 'unsubscribed'. The link at the bottom of the mail seems to have allowed me to unsubscribe though.
Nice to have this feature, but you guys might wanna check that out.
I have unsubscribed to everything. Why am I still getting wishlist notification emails? Please GOG stop sending me spam!

Side note: GOG should fix things that are already broken first before adding more "features" that seem to go wrong.

songoqu: Yeah, you're right - sorry for that. There was a bug, won't happen again.
You never cease to amaze me with the bugs that you deploy into production.

Sorry, did I say amaze? I meant disappoint.

After allowing people to sign up with account names that were already in use (should be prevented by database by a uniqueness constraint) and people to post unescaped HTML (possibly the first test you do when serving user submitted text), I would have thought you were have gotten your act together and started testing stuff works properly before you released it to the public.

I see you also still haven't done anything about the ability to MITM pre-2015 threads either.

Got the notification email about my whislist games being on sale, except that I had already bought them 11-12 hours earlier :P

Time passes slower in Poland. It has something to do with the jet stream and sun spots. I don't really understand it myself.

aaaand unsubscribed.

You could at least include the price/discount in the notification email, instead of forcing people to waste time by having to go to the eshop and check manually. So I'll stick to using 3rd party service that not only notifies me, but also I can set price parameters for notification.
Hey GOG, can you please stop sending "wishlist e-mails" of the games I wishlisted few hours ago, like e.g. recent releases (The Aquatic Adventures)?
Cool add! Very pleased.
I've wanted this feature a long time so I sure hope the bugs get ironed out and settled. It will be very useful. Haven't personally encountered any undesired email from this yet.

This for me as well. I often wishlist a game at launch, which just so happens to be discounted at launch! I can't or don't want to buy it right now, GOG, or I wouldn't have wishlisted it! Barassing me with emails about it is just irritating!

This can be irritating. I've passed this info further, unfortunately I don't know how hard to fix it will be.

Johny.:
Is there anyway the Notification could be on the GOG site as well? Sometimes I receive the emails about a day after the sale is already over. But it would be helpful if the GOG Notification system (next to the Account button) would also indicate if certain items are on sale.

That's a good idea. One could include it in the chat system. A chat message from GOG about a sale notification of one of your games.

Please, no. I don't want to be getting drone Chat messages -- not from GOG itself, not from anyone. I guess it'd be okay to have one single notification flag beside the wishlist item on the Account dropdown; then again, I don't really see the point. The main purpose of this notification system is to notify people who don't visit GOG every day (or even every week) about sales on desired games; if you're already checking the site at least once every day, and you still don't notice that a game you want is on sale (bearing in mind that most promo discounts last for at least three days), I'd say that's your own fault. ;)

EDIT: Removed extra "you're"

If they now implement "A game wishlisted by your friend xxx is now on sale"... I'm going to have to file for bankruptcy...

Thanks all the same, Johny!
